As befits a team that has been premier, grand finallist or thereabouts in recent years, the Swans have provided many a quality Fantasy player. They also have a nice habit of providing a young player who explodes, last year Luke Parker took that role. If you can pick this year’s Luke Parker, you’re on the road to success.

But as always in this great game, to get quality you gotta pay for it. And the Swans midfield stars won’t come cheap. Some have lost their dual position status too.

There’s no doubt that every team will have some gun Swans. Just a matter – Captain Obvious at work here – of picking the right players at the right time.

GET THEM IN

Tom Mitchell (FWD/MID $432,000)

After an injury struck 2014, Mitchell is up and firing and ready to go. He is a very nice price and his dual position status fits well. You’d have to look at him hard.

Lance Franklin (FWD $536,000)

Buddy had one his more consistent Fantasy years last season, albeit after a slow start. He’s very nicely priced here and should be selected.

NOT WITH A BARGEPOLE

Isaac Heeney (MID $246,000)

The kid will be a gun but the Swans are in the happy position of being able to blood their guns at their own pace. He’ll get games, but he won’t be a starting rotation mid. Too pricey for that.

Luke Parker (MID $585,000)

Parker will still be a gun next year, but I suspect other teams will pay him a great deal more respect, and this could affect his output. Could lose some serious value early if tight tags

WORTH A PUNT

Craig Bird (FWD/MID $472,000)

If Longmire has indeed released Bird from run with roles to roam the midfield, then this price, and with his dual position tstaus, could make Bird a bargain.

Jeremy Laidler (DEF $289,000)

If Laidler can lock down a spot in the best 22, and there is one up for grabs, then he’s a bargain at this price. If. Its a big IF.
