Geelong and Hawthorn have played yet another classic in the Qualifying Final at the MCG on Friday night, with Isaac Smith missing a goal after the siren to hand the Cats a Preliminary Final berth.
It was a tough, contested match all night, with multiple lead changes keeping over 87,000 fans on the edge of their seats.
Hawthorn will now face the Western Bulldogs in a cut-throat Semi Final next weekend.
Here’s how social media reacted:
I’m full of admiration for all the players that played in that match. An extraordinary night at the football. #AFLCatsHawks #AFLFinals
