Western Bulldogs v Geelong Cats
ES , 7:50pm AEST Friday, June 29, 2018

  • Geelong are on an incredible 11 game winning streak over the Doggies. Meaning the Bulldogs haven’t gotten over them in the Beveridge era and failed to defeat them in their flag year.
  • Aaron Naughton the forward. The top 10 pick looked assured as a young KPB but after returning from injury he was thrown forward where he marked the ball cleanly and kicked two goals against North Melbourne. This moves takes pressure off fellow Bulldog talls Boyd and Schache.
  • The Cats currently sit seventh on the ladder and a win tonight keeps their top four chances alive.

Carlton v Port Adelaide
MCG , 1:45pm AEST Saturday, June 30, 2018

  • No Kreuzer. The Big Kreuz is out with concussion that may keep him out of the side for several weeks. Young Andrew Phillips will be up against the mobile Paddy Ryder.
  • Trengove debut. Jack Trengove will debut for the Power. The former Dee will be playing just his 8th game since 2013.
  • Blues midfield bolstered. Patrick Cripps was a behemoth against Collingwood last round and we look forward to see what he can do with captain Marc Murphy back in the side to help around the clinches.

Adelaide Crows v West Coast Eagles
AO , 4:05pm ACST Saturday, June 30, 2018

  • Eagles threadbare forward line. Mark LeCras will miss Saturday’s game after undergoing wrist surgery. The Eagles will now be without their top three goalscorers.
  • Rorys in and Rory out. Rory Sloane and Rory Laird return from injury but outside midfielder Rory Atkins is dropped after a disappointing 2018 so far.
  • Free falling Eagles? West Coast have lost their last two games and if they don’t beat the Crows away they could finish the round as low as fifth on the ladder.

Gold Coast Suns v Collingwood
MS , 7:25pm AEST Saturday, June 30, 2018

  • Smoky’s long awaited debut. 2015 draft bolter Brayden Sier will play his first game of AFL after being selected by the Pies with pick 32 over higher profile juniors like Mitch Hibberd, Harley Balic and Rhys Mathieson.
  • Friends to foes. Collingwood chose mobility over size in the ruck department when they traded the Goliath Jarrod Witts to make room for Brodie Grundy. It was a beneficial move for all involved as the two now lead their respective club’s ruck division. Will be interesting to see if Witts remembers anything from countless training sessions to get the best of likely All Australian Grundy.
  • Treloar-less ‘Woods. With the former GWS mid now sidelined until August will Collingwood lack drive and attacking flair going forward or is its midfield too deep to even notice?
