The Essendon Football Club is bringing their game to regional Victoria as they announce their visit to Bendigo for the 2023 AFL Community Camp. Scheduled for February 9-10, the Bombers will engage with the community through a series of exciting activities.

On Thursday, the players will be visiting schools and community centers in Castlemaine and Bendigo, spreading inspiration and positivity. The highlight of the camp will be the open training session on Friday, February 10, at Queen Elizabeth Oval. Fans can watch their heroes hit the track and get up close and personal with a snap and sign session.

Leanne Brooke, Essendon’s Executive GM of Community, Indigenous Affairs & The Long Walk, expressed her excitement about the community camp. “Football is the heartbeat of regional towns and we’re eager to get back into the community after two years of challenges due to Covid,” she said. “We’re looking forward to seeing all the Bendigo and Castlemaine locals, connecting with them through school visits and community clinics, and encouraging all Essendon fans to come out and see their heroes.”

For two years, the AFL Community Camp program was disrupted due to the pandemic, but this year, it’s back and better than ever. With over 700 AFL players travelling to regional communities, the Bombers’ visit to Bendigo will be a fantastic opportunity for the local community to get back to their love of the game.
