St Kilda Hit with Injury Woes as Key Players Await Scan Results
St Kilda Football Club has been dealt a fresh injury blow, with several key players under a cloud following their latest training session. The club has confirmed that Max King, Jack Sinclair, and Mason Wood have all been sent for scans, adding to the Saints’ growing list of injury concerns ahead of the 2025 AFL season.
Star forward Max King left training early due to a knee issue, raising alarm bells given his history of injuries. King endured a shoulder problem in late 2022, which delayed his 2023 season, and a knee injury that prematurely ended his 2024 campaign. St Kilda fans will be eagerly awaiting results to see if their key forward will be fit for the start of the season.
Defender Jack Sinclair experienced hamstring tightness during training, prompting immediate medical assessment. Sinclair has been one of St Kilda’s most reliable performers in recent years, earning back-to-back All-Australian honors and finishing runner-up in last season’s best-and-fairest count.
Versatile wingman Mason Wood also reported quadriceps discomfort and is undergoing scans. Wood was a vital contributor last season, playing 18 senior games and solidifying his spot on the team’s wing.
St Kilda’s Executive General Manager of Football, David Misson, stated that the club will provide further updates once scan results are available and urged against speculation. These fresh injuries come on top of existing setbacks to Dougal Howard (shoulder), Mattaes Phillipou (leg stress fracture), and Rowan Marshall (pelvic injury).
With the season fast approaching, the Saints will be hoping for positive news from medical reports as they prepare for a competitive campaign in 2025.
