The AFL Match Review Panel has come down lightly on Toby Greene’s ‘karate kick’ on Luke Dalhaus on Friday night, offering the GWS protagonist a misconduct fine for the incident.
As a misconduct charge, the incident was not judged according to the standard table of offences, meaning that the MRP could hand out any penalty they desired.
Bulldog Jack Redpath will miss the final two matches of the home and away season if he accepts a ban for striking GWS defender Phil Davis. Redpath’s poor tribunal record left him unable to reduce his suspension to one week.
Ollie Wines can count himself lucky after only handed a fine for his rough conduct charge against Alex Fasolo. The MRP opted not to class the incident as medium impact, leaving the star midfielder to play against the Bulldogs this weekend.
