Gold Coast SUNS fans have reason to celebrate with star midfielder Noah Anderson signing a four-year contract extension. Anderson, who established himself as a rising star in 2022 with a career-best season, will continue to play for the SUNS through the 2027 season.
The 21-year-old leader has expressed his excitement to continue his journey with the club and to lead the playing group towards success. “Gold Coast has felt like home since I was drafted and the playing group continues to drive me forward as a player and a person. I feel at home and this is the best place for me to play footy. We want to play finals and win premierships to make the community proud of us,” Anderson stated.
Anderson’s impact on the field has been remarkable since being drafted in 2019. In 2022, he earned a spot in the SUNS’ leadership group, received 14 Brownlow Medal votes, and was named Club Champion Runner-Up. Anderson will forever be remembered for his goal after the siren that sealed a remarkable victory against Richmond at Metricon Stadium.
The young star has also demonstrated his leadership skills off the field, learning from veteran players and passing on his knowledge to the younger players. “I feel like I can have an impact on the team on and off the field, and I’m excited for what the next few years have to bring,” Anderson added.
The GC SUNS General Manager of Player Talent and Strategy, Craig Cameron, expressed his excitement about Anderson’s commitment to the club. “We are thrilled to have Noah commit to the club for four more years. He joins a number of players who have committed their long-term future to the club as we look to contend and achieve success at the Gold Coast SUNS,” Cameron stated.
Since his debut in Round 1 of 2020, Anderson has played 58 games and missed only three matches, while scoring 15 goals. With Anderson and former top draft pick Matt Rowell committing their futures to the club, the future looks bright for the Gold Coast SUNS.
