Father Bob, A huge Pie’s fan passed away last week and his state funeral has been announced by Premier Daniel Andrew’s.
I'm so pleased Father Bob's family have accepted our offer of a state funeral to remember him.
The service will be held Friday 5th of May at St Patrick's and will celebrate the life and work of a great Victorian.
For our state, and the whole nation.

Father Bob, known for his commitment to Social Justice and his irreverant sense of humor passed away after a long fight against deteriorating health.
Melbourne will get a chance to bid farewell to a great man who committed himself to serving the poor and destitue. Fighting against inequality, he sometimes came up against the very Catholic Church that he had committed his life to. Never one to backdown, In 2009 he was asked to leave his parish and the diminishing Catholic Church lost a giant.
This did not stop father Bob’s activism and generosity. Through his foundation (The Father Bob Maguire Foundation) he continued to do “the good work” that he had become known for.
Father Bob.. The Pie’s, Collingwood, Melbourne, Victoria and Australia will miss you.
