The Carlton Football Club has announced five changes to its AFL playing list at the conclusion of the 2024 season, with David Cuningham, Caleb Marchbank, Jack Martin, Alex Mirkov, and Dom Akuei departing the club.
David Cuningham played 58 games over nine seasons for the Blues, having been selected with pick No.23 in the 2015 national draft. The 27-year-old played a career-high 12 games last season, including two finals, and added five more appearances in 2024.

Caleb Marchbank made 56 appearances across his eight seasons with Carlton after joining the club in 2017 via a trade with Greater Western Sydney. Injuries limited the defender to just three games this year.
Jack Martin played 54 games for Carlton over five seasons, including three games in 2024. The 29-year-old forward arrived via the pre-season draft from the Gold Coast Suns and won the Coaches Award in his debut season with the Blues in 2020.
Alex Mirkov joined Carlton as a mid-season rookie in 2021 after impressing in the VFL for the Carlton Reserves. The 210cm ruckman missed most of 2023 due to injury but returned to play 16 VFL games in 2024.
Dom Akuei spent three seasons as a Category B rookie, primarily playing as a defender for the Carlton Reserves.
Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin acknowledged the contributions of all five players.
“David and Caleb have shown incredible perseverance throughout their careers, overcoming numerous challenges, which speaks volumes about their character,” Austin said. “Jack has also been a resilient figure over his five seasons and leaves with lasting friendships. Alex and Dom brought great energy to the club and earned their spots through unique pathways.”
