It was about 15 years ago. I'm well past that.

But I would ask her for her share of the rent and she would say 'Yeah, I have transferred it. Should be in your account tomorrow'.

And then after 6 weeks of asking for it repeatedly and finally threatening to kick her out, she would give me cash.

I'm like ... why would you say you had transferred it 6 weeks ago, when you clearly hadn't and I was going to know almost straight away that you hadn't.

It was a huge wakeup call how easily some people could lie.
