West Coast, Hawthorn, North, Richmond & Carlton are not playing finals. Bottom four Richmond don't even have the consolation of getting a decent first round pick as they have already traded it.

Fourth spot is wide open now. Any team that grabs that and hits the finals with momentum could be very dangerous. Teams like Melbourne, Adelaide, Bulldogs, Essendon and Geelong are all very good on their day.

Edge is a good thing to have. There are other assests too though, like the Daicos brothers and their singled minded dedication to being as good as they can possibly be. Earlier this year Peter Daicos said his sons are meticulous with their diets and are in bed by 9:30. I wish I was that...

I agree he would be a handy structural inclusion and I'm keen to see him get a good run before the finals.
