I love YouTube comments along those lines. Saw another one saying that if you've got a girl, and you've got Steely Dan playing, and you're not getting any action, it sure as hell ain't Steely Dan's fault.

I just realised the other day that I immediately associate The Nightfly (the whole album) with the 2011 AFL season, since I was listening to it incessantly during that time. Kinda odd since it's about optimism in the 50s and cold war paranoia and all that, and is about as far removed from footy as you can get. Although I did start inadvertently using the term "New Frontier" in football contexts.

I adore the 2011 film, seen it a few times now and there's just so much it does right.

The Guinness version is great too, although it's just basically TV (shot on film). It's much less imaginative visually, but the acting is really impeccable.

If you manage to get your hands on the Guinness version, be sure to get the follow-up and conclusion, Smiley's People. I really hope that Oldman gets to do that one as well.

Have you seen The Spy Who Came in From the Cold? I recommend that to anyone who enjoyed the 2011 TTSS. The fact that Smiley's in it helps.

I do believe it. Seen it happen to others but hasn't happened to me. We've been gentle i guess. A good looking XD or XE are getting really hard to find. Most of em look so clapped out its frustrating.
