Disagree. His effort was extraordinary, and kept us thereabouts when the game was in the balance. Yes some wayward disposal, but a lot were under pressure. The most tackles by plenty, the most metres gained for us by plenty, most I50s by plenty, most contested posessions. Amazing power running...
Yeah, nah, he's a gun for hire. That wasn't the case with Cameron or Pickett. And Cripps was hardly going to go head to head with Butters...Wines, JHF and Drew were doing the bullock work.
I think we'd back Cripps to go head to head as we have with Rowell, JHF, Greene et al.
Martin does most of his work between the arcs. I think Fogs I50 pressure is too important to sacrifice...and not sure he's up to it aerobically.
I suppose Merrett just doesn't strike much fear for me...his lowest disposal average is against us, and by no small margin.
He plays a much more attacking style, and still has a high DE% for a guy that opts to kick first.
I don't really rate SI as a stat, and the top 10 are separated by 1 SI.
I think we have natural advantages on the inside v Essendon. It's the run and carry we will have more trouble with.
We can match Merrett on the inside.
We have no obvious solutions for Martin. They want the ball in his hands. Very different player, but averaging more touches than Merrett, much more damaging disposal, sixth in the comp for metres gained and takes the game on.
No reason why not. Fantasia and Durdin are getting regular games and injuries happen
Martin can also play nearer to goal and would make a great sub. Would love to keep him on the list if possible
