I’d almost be pissed off if West Coast traded a top two pick to the Western Bulldogs for Tim English.

That’d be three top two picks in a row the Bulldogs didn’t get by being sh**e.

Only saving grace would be laughing at the Eagles for trading that much.
Maybe they will use Carlton’s “ accountant “ and make magic happen.

If English wants to come home, I can’t see eagles wanting to part with their first pick for him, you know dogs will demand it

Eagles may try something sneaky like splitting their first, wherever it lands

I see that as an opportunity to simply offer our first which will be close or better to what they’ll eagles will offer

Pretty much sums up the difference in the two teams since Optus opened.
Got a feeling that is about to rotate 180 degrees the other way
Richmond, Melbourne, Bulldogs and Geelong are west coast next 4 home games.

Do you reckon they will win any of those.

Richmond possibly depending on covid but the other 3 i doubt.

They could be 0-7 at home by mid June.

English has become a seriously good player , But if Bailly Williams is West Coasts best option after NN retires then they will be right into English.
Question mark on English though what would he be like in a side that is struggling?

Let's be honest, with their list profile, wasted draft capital, has-been coach and stubbornly arrogant leadership, the weagles are in for three years of pain minimum.

Yeah 3-4 at a minimum. They've still got ground to lose with JJK still too go, and the ongoing gradual decline of Sheuy and Nic Nat will prolong things. That's what you get for winning a flag though.

For the life of me can't figure out why they all seem to hate Simmo though. Not his fault the list is toast. I actually think he's done really well to get the most of of a list that has some very specific strengths. Hard to survive a long rebuild as a coach though.

I always felt that when Willie Rioli began training back at WC there was a negative vibe coming out of that club. Kelly went there because they were a ‘family’ club apparently with a better culture, but as we already knew with Nisbett in charge it’s far from a safe environment to play footy as player welfare is not top of his agenda.

Now they’ve had covid issues this season, we know that, but last year there was a huge dip in their results when Willie waltzed back in. I don’t think all the players were on board with him coming back & then throw in Darling this year who should of just stayed away.

My point is, since Willie walked in & began training again last season, WC have won 3 from 14 games (That includes 2 wins from 9 games last season when they were entrenched in the 8)

You can see each week they try to manufacture team harmony, but there is no love in that group of players & if you don’t feel you can bleed for a teammate, your not likely to win too many games when things get tough.

Sucked in.

English has taken a huge step up around the ground and in the follow up from a ruck contest.

He's still below average in the ruck though.
Yes his work rate up the ground is superior to Lobb but he doesn't score enough for my liking. Therefore we would be losing more than what we gained. That is of course that Amiss/Treacy can break back into the b22 and start hitting the scoreboard.

The gulf between Freo and Toast Will be the biggest ever for the next few years. Great time to be alive!!

download (15).jpg They were playing ducks and drakes bringing him back from injury so soon

Have the Eagles ever had 3-4 consecutive years of pain? It's going to be interesting.

They always drafted well and nevet had a heap all retire close together. At the moment the young talent just doesn't look to be there to replace the geriatrics.

Their fans will want Simmo sacked, then his replacement sacked by halfway through 2024, then they'll all just give up on footy and switch to the Scorchers or Wildcats. Because what's the point of following a team if you can't live vicariously through them to make yourself feel like a success?

It’s starting to head towards mid-2000s territory in terms of the amount of genuinely dislikeable players the Eagles have. Let’s see:

Rioli - Drug cheat and caught with drugs in an airport
Ryan - Domestic violence and drink driving all hushed up like it was for Ben Cousins in the mid-2000s
Darling - anti-vaxer and just generally a dickhead.
Shuey - head ducking cheat
Nic Fat - Media whore who just loves the attention.
Gaff - Thug who should’ve spent time inside.

The club hasn’t changed since the 2000s. Use the bias WA media to prop themselves and make them seem perfect when behind the scenes it’s anything but. Hope it cripples them hard in future years. Karma will eventually catch up.

Now Sheppard has retired and Kennedy and Hurn aren’t far away there’s little time left where there’s anything to respect about that club. Maybe McGovern would be about it.

Simpson has earnt the right to rebuild the Eagles list as a premiership winning coach.

It wont make a difference who is coaching them their age demographic is on the cliff.

2008-2010 is there only real down period in there history.

They won just 16 games across a 3 year stretch including a spoon in 2010.

4 wins in 08 & 10
8 wins in 09.

Unfortunately freo were just as bad in 2008-2009 so freo didnt really cash in outside of the 2010 sugar hit under Harvey.
