Then when musing about others he mentioned Harley and Maxwell were great captains also…

So let me just provide a little perspective. Pendles took over the captaincy of an excellent footy team. He has been a great player, but in a decade has taken his team to 1 …. Yes, 1…. Grand final. Which they lost. And he played poorly.

Cotchin took over captaincy of a team that hadn’t made finals in 12-years. They made finals in his first season as skipper. Then we all know about the 3 x losing EF and the debacle of 2016. Then his change in leadership style and his willingness to show vulnerability was an absolute catalyst in leading his team to 3 x flags.

So as captain he led the team to its first finals series in 12-years, its first finals win in 16-years, its first Grand Final in 35-years and its first Premiership in 37-years …. oh, and a dynasty.

But yeah, Pendles who hasn’t led his excellent team to any silverware is a better captain.

Good to see Lloydy is able to park his personal biases against Richmond/Cotchin and analyse things objectively.

Not to mention being highly responsible for keeping the greatest finals player in history on the straight and narrow, when it was very conceivable that things might've gone the opposite way during Dusty's younger years.

Needs to find a retirement home. In my eyes he might have played for us many moons ago but its obvious that Essendon and GWS are higher on his list.

Remember him take a shot at us before the 2019 GF, Sheedy is not welcome and not a Richmond man.

A conversation with those who played with Lloyd , about his leadership , diminishes any views he has on leadership .
People seem to forget he threw his toys out of the cot when Knights suggested he play a differing role .

I hate Geelong with a passion but when we owned our cafe in West Geelong, he use to come in to buy birthday cakes for older fans. He would buy them himself as a surprise for them he said. He was a really nice guy (as much as I hate to say it).

Cam Guthrie also use to come in for lunch occasionally with a friend and he’d eat her hot chips off her plate. He was so quietly spoken - I almost liked him 😂
