Yeah I expected inconsistency this year. It takes a lot of time for teams to gel and become predicable to each other. Still a lot of basic errors in defence and often not enough intensity at the ball but really they’re doing so well as a first year club.

From what some of the journos have said it takes a while for the womens teams to settle into the season and then when they do it's over already. I think partially because it isn't full time yet so they aren't spending a lot of consecutive time training it? And then expansion as well has caused a lot of teams to have unstable playing lists, thankfully we are the expansion team so we're not losing players to it At least until Tassie gets a mens team and decides they want a womens one too.

Was good to watch that today, but geez what is it with umpires in Ess vs Syd games.

They need to get Bannister to teach the tackling drills for the men. Love watching how her and Scott go about it.

The AFL provided the following statement:

"We acknowledge that a mistake was a made during the third quarter in Sydney and Essendon game on the weekend. After communicating this with Sydney the AFL thanks the Swans for their understanding.

"In this particular instance, a goal should have been signalled.

"Overall, the umpires did a terrific job officiating across round eight."
