So, while we are waiting here's a question.

Should North have held onto the number 1 pick and taken Aaron Cadman to partner Nick Larkey for the next decade or are they better off with 2 good kids (Sheezel, Tsatas, Wardlaw types) ?
North need all the help they can get and IMO taking 2 of the top 3 kids in the draft gives them more than just landing Cadman would have given them.

KJpie on the phone advising GoTigers2015
Can I take your 3 picks to date, the Weagles will be rapt with that lot.
Two home growns, The best Defender, a Mid that is playing seniors for Swan Districts (my old mob) because he was too good in the Colts and the best young Ruck in the comp.
Time to give up your day job Tiger, full time recruiting awaits you.

Have total faith in GoTigers2015

I'd have gone with picks 2,3 (3,4). All pretty evenly ranked just dependant on list needs, and while key forwards are a valued comodity 2 players are better than one especially when you lack depth of talent like north

Yep I tend to agree. If they had their time again they would split last year's Pick 1 which would have meant probably Finn Callahan and Josh Rachele running around in North colours now and no JHF saga.

Still, if the dog hadn't stopped for a shizer, it would have caught the rabbit.

Collingwood select @ #28

Henry Hustwaite

Midfielder/Defender, VIC

Age: 20/07/04
Weight: 84kg
Height: 194cm
Club: Vic Country/Dandenong Stingrays/ Rosebud FC/Rosebud Secondary College

2022 National Champs
97 ranking points, 20.8 disposals, 2.5 inside 50s, 3.5 marks, 2.8 clearances, 4.8 score involvements, 3.5 tackles (four games)

2022 NAB League
108 ranking points, 22.7 disposals, 2.8 inside 50s, 2.4 marks, 5.2 clearances, 4.7 score involvements, 3.8 tackles (12 games)

A silky left-footer, Hustwaite has come from nowhere over the past two years after a major growth spurt which has left him with the ability to play a variety of roles. He started the year in defence with the Stingrays in the NAB League as a third tall, but has gone on to learn how to play as a tall inside midfielder. Hustwaite is an efficient ball user – particularly with his hands – who has good vision and footy nous and is extremely composed with the footy. He has solid endurance and his start to the season saw him added to the Australian under 18 team that faced Collingwood’s VFL side in May. Hustwaite performed soundly in that match and continued his form throughout the year with the Stingrays and Vic County in the under-18 national championships. Hustwaite was named on a half-back flank in the NAB League Boys Team of the Year.

Jaxon Binns

Midfielder/Forward, VIC

Age: 29/10/04
Weight: 72kg
Height: 182cm
Club: Vic Country/Dandenong Stingrays/Berwick FC/Caulfield Grammar
2022 National Champs100 ranking points, 25.8 disposals, 6.5 inside 50s, 6.0 marks, 1.5 clearances, 7.8 score involvements, 1.8 tackles (four games) 2022 NAB League110 ranking points, 21.5 disposals, 5.8 inside 50s, 1.4 clearances, 1.0 goals, 7.4 score involvements, 1.8 tackles (eight games)
A running machine who outworks his opponents, Binns also has excellent vision and awareness to use the ball efficiently by hand and foot. He is a dangerous player around goals and impressed at under 17 level for Vic Country last year in a two-match series against Vic Metro due to a Covid-modified championship schedule. However, he has become more than just a small forward this season, having been used extensively on a wing where he has excited recruiters with consistent high-level performances. An X-Factor player, Binns can change games with his own hands and feet and produced a breakout performance for Vic Country in its second match of the under-18 national championships against the Allies. That day he logged 39 disposals, 14 marks and 10 score involvements from a wing to stamp himself as a high draft prospect this year. Binns was named on a wing in the Under-18 Boys All-Australian Team.

Dart board drafting never fails.lol

Pick 30 Collingwood

Josh Weddle

Defender, VIC

Age: 25/05/04
Weight: 87kg
Height: 191cm
Club: Vic Metro/Oakleigh Chargers/Eltham/Carey Grammar

2022 National Champs
83 ranking points, 15 disposals, 3.5 rebound 50s, 4.3 marks, 5.8 intercept possessions, 1.3 intercept marks, 3 tackles (four games)

2022 NAB League59 ranking points, 12.8 disposals, 1.7 rebound 50s, 4.5 marks, 1.8 intercept possessions, 0.3 intercept marks, 2.2 tackles (six games)

A mid-sized defender, Weddle has risen up AFL club draft boards on the back of a strong national championships with Vic Metro. He was named at full-back in the Under-18 Boys All-Australian Team following the championships. A big growth spurt over the past 18 months has helped his rise this year, with Weddle measuring in at a touch under 191cm at the NAB League testing day in March. Weddle is athletically gifted, explosive with his speed and can play on talls or smalls. He is a good interceptor as a third-tall down back and generally uses the ball well when he wins it back. AFL clubs see the potential for Weddle to play a variety of roles, not just in defence but also forward or even through the midfield. He ranked equal-ninth in the Yo Yo test at the NAB League testing day in March, with a result of 21.7 showing his impressive endurance.

Stkilda up next Wrenny

they have done the right thing for the club, 2 good ones this year at least, and garner some picks in next years draft. I do loves me some Cadman though, and by all reports they did not have Cadman as number 1 on their board as did many clubs but he was more of a number 2 or 3, but to get their man, that they also need, gws had to move up.

Pick 31
St Kilda

Charlie Clarke
Height: 182cm
Weight: 75kg

SNAPSHOT: “A speedy and competitive forward, Clarke’s energy and athleticism on-field provide him with a real sense of X-factor.”

One of the few prospects with prior NAB League experience coming into the season, Charlie Clarke has been somewhat of a surprise packet across the 2022 campaign in a star studded Sandringham Dragons side. Equally lively through the midfield or up forward, Clarke’s ability to impact in multiple roles was a valuable asset in the Dragons’ journey to the premiership, being held goalless in just two of his 15 appearances.

Clarke’s feats, including a remarkable seven-goal haul against Tasmania in Round 4, garnered representative honours with Vic Metro where he played all four games throughout the Under 18 National Championships. Above all, he is a talent who loves the big stage and rises to grand occasions with his guts to take the game on and instinctual play inside attacking 50.

LOZWILDA you're up

Pick 32 Carlton
Burgiel 183/80 mid/ forward

It was no surprise at the Draft Combine to see Burgiel among the top performers in the 20-metre sprint, with the speedy midfielder registering a time of 2.88 seconds and placing third overall. Burgiel's pace is one of his weapons and it came to the fore more and more in the second half of the season as he started to climb draft boards. Kicks goals (he booted 12.11 from nine games in the NAB League) and can also go through the middle.

Also was tempted to go Munkara here!

Very good pickup

No real smokies so far. From the October Consensus Power Rankings, 31 out of the top 36 players selected. Players that are left:

27 Max Gruzeski
29 Coby Burgiel
30 Jakob Ryan
34 Sam Gilbey
35 story/60279a69570d73b9d37624dc30097c5b[/URL]
Still some very good players left , I was hoping for Burgiel would last to GWS next pick

Barnett would have been nice, but would have to use your first to get him which is a bit early.
Tiger_Of_Old & his damn Darts ;)
Best available was the right call for Hollands along with your other 2 picks, all 3 slid & were too good to overlook
Rumour has it that we are into Tucker. Wright has stated we will pick a ruck, unsure if its at the draft or a rumoured older ruckman as a DFA prior to the draft or rookie him for one year purely as insurance.

Sorry for delay.Freo had their golf day today.
Freo select.

Harry Lemmey

Forward, SA

Age: 30/1/2004
Weight: 94kg
Height: 199cm
Club: West Adelaide/Flagstaff Hill
2022 SANFL U18s 115 ranking points, 14.3 disposals, 7.7 marks, 11 goals (total) 2022 National Champs 38 ranking points, 5.3 disposals, 2.3 marks, 1 goal (total)
It’s been an intriguing year for the South Australia key-forward, who was touted as a first-round selection heading into 2022, after a standout bottom-age season. As a 17-year-old, Lemmey took seven marks and booted 1.1 in his SANFL League debut against Port Adelaide and booted four goals in an impressive national carnival showing, where his elite hands, mobility, leading patterns and kicking were on display. But he’s struggled for consistency this year and had no impact at the recent under-18 championships, raising concerns over his compet

itiveness and ability to take a contested mark. And then Lemmey – who was described as ¬“Riley Thilthorpe Mark II’’ by West leag
ue captain Tom Keough in May – finished the year in defence for West Adelaide’s under-18 side, tallying a combined eight intercept marks in the final three home-and-away matches. Where he lands in November’s draft is now well-and-truly up for debate.

Rioli2Rioli is upto the tee.

This was a really hard choice for me between 2 players but have decided to go with the boy who showed great compassion and care and thats what you build culture around which is something that gets under valued these days

GWS pick #34 - Max Gruzewski
193cm/84kg
21/7/04
Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro
Key defender/forward
