Oh Darcy, is it possible to list all of the qualities of thee?

- Football talent...almost unmatched
- Non-football talent...hot as f***
- Ability to talk scripted nonsense...yep
- Ability to think and talk off-script...none better
- Entrancing combination of masculine and feminine beauty...yes
- Presence on field...Napoleonic (but taller and somewhat kinder)
- Physicality...hot as f***
- Leadership experience...a beloved long-time member of the leadership group who is also hot as f***.

In short, he'd be good for a shag and even better for a flag.

Love JB. Xox.

Nailed it.

But you forgot to mention that he’s hot as f***.

So had Pendles stuck it out another couple of years you think Nick would have stepped right up? Plenty in the media feel we actually have a few options, we do not just have to rely on skipping a generation with Nick. When will the skipper announcement be made?

Based on Nicks current performance on field and what I can see off field in the media he seems to be on a trajectory to be in the frame for a leadership role in a couple of years. Maybe even becoming part of the leadership group next season. He just appears to be someone who wants to set the example. Maybe I’m being a bit romantic and wanting him to be a long term captain in the ilk of Pendlebury or Selwood… Moore would make excellent captain regardless.

Adams lacks a vital part in his DNA to become a Captain in the AFL. The grey matter between his ears to be a true leader.

Yeah his has effort. And thus he can serve as an effort based soldier. And that’s about it. He doesn’t have the quality of disposal nor the quality of decision making to be anything more than a toiler now. Nothing wrong with that. But to make him Captain would be a move backwards and I can’t see Fly and Co, nor the team doing that.

The Captain will come from Crisp, Maynard or Moore. In no particular preference…..

I see him as like the faithful horse in Animal Farm that works his butt off and is sent to the knackery. Adams needs a bit of pig to him, arrogance combined with brains, the intelligence at least to not push himself too hard each time he gets injured, and to play within himself to avoid needless injury on the field. I prefer a captain who can stay on the park.

Former Carey Grammar school captain?

Former Carey Grammar school captain?

The list goes on, Neil.

That might usually count against him, because school captain types are a bit 'showy' for my taste. Really, anyone who finishes year 11 is looked upon suspiciously in my neck of the woods.

But this is Darcy Moore we're talking about. He's transgressive, breaks moulds, doing it his way. Hot as f***.

He was also captain of the Oakleigh Chargers in the U18s

This is a terrible call. Go to a live game and watch the emotion from Moore even when the ball is down the other end. Or see him with the fans after the siren. It's almost like he is penalised for being an academic who both loves footy and is smart enough to know it has an expiration date.

it comes around his comments when he was much younger (ab libbing) that he's not a footy head and that could see himself chasing other interests and possibly leaving the game before 30.

He recently said he is much more interested in the game now and more footy orientated then he previously was. Or words to that effect.

Personally think he is one of couple good choices for the role, the only box for mine he doesn't tick that I like is physicality. But neither does pendles.
