*Edit :Further to that the part where he tried to talk up McPhersons job on walters was probably the crux of the whole story for me- wow McPherson had some intercept marks and played Sonny closely apparently … yet walters kicked 4 goals and set up numerous others and was basically the match winner .

That’s the thing tho , they usually have some pretty decent an accurate articles .

it’s just the author on that one by going to extreme lengths to try and prove his
points and in turn really telling us nothing most keen followers couldn’t pick up themselves eg GC were better in the first half , we essentially dominated the next half- but then implied somehow GC first half meant more than our second half

I’m surprised he didn’t mention the leg room dimensions in each teams bus to try decipher if freo had some sort of advantage there as well.

Except that we lost to North, were losing to GC for most of the game and only beat WC because their injuries stacked up. Not great.

I think the point is that its the coaches or players unwilling to change that short kick game. Remember Sydney last year doing it to us? North did do it effectively as well... and we appear to be shaken by it. Even against sh!t sides.

We're not playing good footy but hardly showing any good signs either which isn't great. That roar article while crap does raise some good points, how our defensive press isn't working well. The one about "it's worse that we won" though is laughable. The board would have melted down if we lost.

It’s not that bad an article. Overcooks our weaknesses.

I still think our biggest issue is players wildly out of form and new players taking time to adjust.

He does sound a little bitter and salty in that article though.

We do need to adapt our game plan as the first half we did panic into way too many turnovers. What I did like about the second half was some players finding some form namely Young and Cox. Both had horrible first halves but found something that looked promising in the second half.

I agree with him in his comments about the Wing and Acres.

Mostly because they don't pick it based off one game, it's almost like a list gets made up and the next bloke on the list gets ticked off.
He fully deserves a nomination based on his year so far, and I'm sure Amiss is getting near the top of the pending nomination list
