Yep. Knows all the main players, has a handle on which teams are going alright and which ones aren't, roughly knows what's going on from moment to moment, and fills the rest in with "wowee, boy oh boy, can you believe that" bullcrap.

it's tough though. all that stuff is true but he's still more dynamic and entertaining and has more personality than many of the people who understand the game better.

I just mean moreso than certain other people. Like for example Nathan Buckley is obviously a good football analyst but any time he's commentating a game he always sounds bored. BT at least knows how to follow the tempo of a game and get upbeat when something exciting's happening.

I get what you're saying. Luke Hodge is another who's very analytical but you have to wonder whether he's actually enjoying the game at times. But I wonder the same about BT because it's all bluff and bullshit. At least Bucks and Hodge talk to me like I'm not an idiot.
