Player Watch #3: Harry Sheezel - 23 AFL RS/NM SBM, AFLPA BYP, '24 AA squad, '24 AFLCA BYP

I've found from watching him closely (because I love him) that his kicks that get intercepted are usually the fault of the player on the receiving end.

Sheezel has a tendency to try and kick to where he wants a player to lead into, whether that's into space or into the corridor, etc. But too often the player he's kicking too up the field is flat footed and wants to get the ball kicked directly onto their chest while stationary.

That's just not how Sheezel's footy brain works. He wants motion and I love it.

Yet this gentleman is a one man Luke McDonald crusade proclaiming his brilliance in defiance of every shred of evidence.. and here rips into a first year player (who has been awesome) despite having to play with frauds like Corr and McDonald every week.

If you tolerate McDonalds embarrassing disposal, decision making and defending for 10 years it seems a little strange when you rip into a first year player for the things you excuse McDonald for..

Ah, but he does bomb long and when he does it’s with no penetration. As I said, he has a massive upside but all I questioned was his kicking. Nothing more, nothing less. But morons like you can’t comprehend that and just cause I questioned his kicking you have to talk about every other skill. I never mentioned those, nor did I question those. BUT like so many other morons on here you don’t want to question what is an issue with some player, but over exaggerate the couple of bad thing other players do.

Go back and look at my analysis of LMac game last week. So many of you said how bad it was but I pointed out all the good shit he did and asked anyone to prove me wrong. Not one person came back and questioned my examination.

Not all turnovers are equal though, you know that. He's comfortably our best user of the footy and hits kicks no one else on our list does, and regularly too. He tries harder kicks and he also gets the ball more than anyone else.

If your view was his kicking lacks penetration, then sure. But instead you went the hyperbolic route and basically said he can't have the ball in his hands coming out of the back half. Which is a ludicrous "take" you're correctly getting roasted for.
