Rioli, who was the victim of awful online racism after the match, struck Murphy in the last term with an open left hand to Murphy’s head which knocked the Magpie to ground.

It could be a costly blow for Rioli who could be handed a one-match suspension for the strike which would sideline the former Eagle for the clash against Port’s fierce rival Adelaide. It could be graded intentional conduct, high contact and low impact, triggering a one-match ban.
Murphy, who was one of Collingwood’s best players, got back to his feet and played on.

Regardless of the incident, Collingwood CEO Craig Kelly said the abuse directed at Rioli on social media was unacceptable.
“The Collingwood Football Club strongly condemns the abhorrent and disgusting racist remarks directed towards Junior Rioli,” Kelly said.
“There is no room for racism in our game and we will not tolerate it – not on the field, off the field or online.
