Nothing. It wasn’t successful. The whole point of dual ruckman is stoppage wins and aerial supremacy. Neither of which we had this year or last. I would prefer Cox as the number 1 ruck over Cameron, but thank the gods above we’ve done away with our crappy version of a 2 ruck setup.
Rubbish. Cox and Cameron both had stand out performances last year. Be careful what you wish for.

Your opinion, I thought they were alright without being dominant week in & out. Whilst I agree a new system would be great we don't actually have one, just musical chairs.

Alright isn’t going to cut it on PF or GF day. The new system looks good to me.

Agree, prefer the mobility provided with Frampton taking whatever rucking is left over. With McStay, Mihocek & Howe up forward we don't lose anything aerially

Whilst the VFL side is playing, Cox is getting a high level of exposure at the Nbr 1 ruck role, that might come in handy as the weather warms up and the finals start!

Key Backs: Moore Frampton Murphy

Key Forwards: McStay Mihocek Howe

Ruckmen: Cameron Cox

Murphy and Howe play 3rd Talls at their respective ends and Cox is back up for Cameron, it's a perfect mix.

Tend to agree, I expect that Fly will continue to tinker with the backup ruckman for Cameron over the next two weeks whilst Cox continues to get high minutes as first ruck in the VFL. Wouldn't surprise me if it's Cameron and Cox in the first final - especially if it's a night game at the "G"

While I have your attention Doc, is there anything I can do to relieve sciatic pain, it's killing me

For more immediate relief, lie on your stomach for a while. Longer term you’re going to have to look at fixing at your posture, reducing the amount of time you spend sitting, and strengthen your glutes and your core muscles.

Geez, all you needed to add to the longer term recommendation was "lose some weight" and you've got my last conversation with my doc!

Thanks doc, it looks like I've got a bit of a battle ahead

It’s relevant to many such conversations! Obviously need to see people in the flesh to know whether it’s a factor here though. ;)

(… or maybe get a BMI or hip-to-waist ratio)

what about just ignoring the problem and using alcohol to convince yourself that you’re as fit as you were when you were 20

They may have been trying a new system last week with ruck not coming from a forward - although Crisp said the plan was for Billy to play ruck/forward.

Ultimately, you're right though - we've been playing a one ruck system - Cox was playing predominately as a forward with Cameron playing big minutes in the ruck. So we haven't really changed the system. They're trialling some different players in that role - as Coxy was really struggling. Might even turn to Krueger this week. I'm hoping we don't go back to Cox playing as a forward who chops out in the ruck, as he's always been a sub-par forward.

I would assume referring to the use of Cameron/Cox + Frampton and McStay taking the leftovers, as opposed to Cox AND CaCameron
Thanks. I don't mind that concept, with concern it has had one run & what do we did with Darcy out beyond this week where frampton can chase dannier. I'd only worry against Melbourne where Gawn can tear Cameron apart.

Cheers. As above with Darcy out the new system seems like it has to become a new - different one again. Agree totally with your last sentence.

I prefer to keep the forward set up from last week, it functioned well and with the importance of intercepting defenders, a negating forward is necessary and Howe is well suited to that.

Id like to see Krueger brought in to replace Moore, Geelong used him in defence so it’s not completely foreign to him, and it would allow frampton to follow Daniher into the ruck whilst still retaining some height in defence should big O rest there.

I wouldn't survive that, he annihilates himself a dozen times a game, in one game I thought his career was over 3 times, it's bad enough with all the close finishes but he'd put us all in the psych ward.

I really liked Howe forward too and would stick with it. I probably wouldn't mess around with trying to make second ruck work from defence at this stage of the year and think these last two weeks should be about getting it right for the finals rather than worrying much about how to do it with Moore out.

I'd go with 1 of these two options:

a) A tall on the bench who plays about 60% game time and chops out the ruck and the three tall forwards to keep that structure. It'd be Krueger for me, because it'd be more forward than ruck time and he provides a better contest. But wouldn't care if it was Cox or Frampton when Moore is back.

b) One less tall in the 22 and Cox as sub. Cameron plays the first 2 and a half quarters and then if no injuries, Cox subbed in for him - to minimise the time that McStay rucks and take out the need for a surplus tall who just pinch hits.

I had it for two years. Got on you Tube videos showing what exercises to do before sleep and in the morning.
Around 10 minutes per session.
After a few weeks the pain magically disappeared.
The pain I experienced in those two years was intense.
Feel for you mate.
