Didn’t the article say she volunteered to go up as she was invested in the club and wanted to participate as part of the extended team being a staffer?

There’s still no excuse for the outcome with the poor staffer and you’d feel shithouse afterwards making someone so miserable at work. All the negativity would’ve made things very toxic.

Jack’s right though, some approaches work for some groups and others work better for the dynamics of another.
Some groups respond better to a kick up the ass, others rather constructive feedback to keep their confidence up.

He stayed loyal to Richmond on lesser pay.

Our bosses got Leading Teams in at TAFE to try and get the BD staff (sales staff) to fit in with other parts of the Organisation , there were a lot of good ideas come out off the sessions , but Management didn’t buy in as that would have created tensions with the education staff , complete and utter waste of time and money as everyone needed to get on board.

After Richo retired I never thought I'd see a player I could get so emotionally invested in and see as a hero.

Jack has been this player for me. There's something about watching a good key forward at the peak of their powers that you just can't beat in AFL. As they say, play your best players in the forward line - and for a good reason. I was there when he kicked 10 against WCE and it felt like the dawning of a new era. I've rarely seen a player just absolutely dominate another team like that, ever. And his marking FMD. Like he had pogo sticks for legs!

Jack and I are the same age exactly to the day (and share a birthday with Lynch ironically, albeit 4 years younger). After having my kids, sustaining some permanent injuries doing construction around the house etc...watching this guy run around in 2023 I couldn't help but feel bad for him knowing how sore I was myself just trying to work and raise kids and do projects at home. I really felt for him. It wasn't supposed to end that way with him being some sacrificial lamb to be molested every week by 2-3 defenders. It was an indictment on the club that they didn't have someone else to play there with him when Lynch went down - even a guy like Lefau, Kosi, Gray, Bauer (injured) etc. Broke my heart to see Jack giving his all, getting smashed, and clearly just being too old and beat up to keep doing it - yet he managed 20 games anyway even with all his niggles.


What a f'ing bloke he is, what a player he was.

Just noticed this too Andyy . I absolutely loved Jack too. Not the most physically gifted player but genuinely a footballers footballer. Creative & Wiley and when he matured into a team leader, well he just made others better as well. Jack has left a huge legacy at RFC….

His size made his career stats even more impressive

He was 193cm/92kg and finishes his career with almost 800 goals and the no.1 key foward on a team for over a decade. He was really closer to a Gunston type (193cm/87kg) mid sized forward who are usually 2nd or 3rd option.

The other 3 most succesful forward of the era were all much bigger and stronger with Franklin (199cm/102kg), Hawkins (197cm/103kg) and Kennedy (196cm/99kg). His leap and elite ball reading ability and footy smarts more than made up for it.

Also just looking at other Coleman medal winners and I saw Curnow is listed at 194cm/94kg?? There is absoutely no way hes a similair size to Jack, is he 100% muscle and 0% fat or something?
