Waterman is; as I’ve said for a long time; a nearly man

We need to join the expanded VFL and poach players from the WAFL to buttress our squad and extract concessions on the AFL to support it.Yeah. You’re right. Let’s keep whatever this is going for the next 18 months.
Brilliant.
Also. It’s a tax to go over the soft cap. We have $60 million we’re sitting on.
None of this is good. Been horribly mismanaged everywhere.
It’s a disaster.
Cripps is fine. Having a rough day but he was alright in the first two games. Certainly concerning that Darling can't jump though.Darling and Cripps and Gaff all cooked

Given Simpson’s contract is rumoured to be at a minimum 800k per season, we’d be paying him a minimum of $1.6m (likely more than that) out of our $7m soft cap.
What head coach are we hiring that’s going to turn our results around drastically enough to make that hinderance worthwhile?
Bindi Ir-lose the way we're goingLooking hard for any green shoots, but they'd probably be bindi anyway.
how about doing a head count, they must have five more players out there than us.
If Crippa can’t kick simple shots at goal he’s not worth sticking withCripps is fine. Having a rough day but he was alright in the first two games. Certainly concerning that Darling can't jump though.
Judging by this game which of the kids will be leading the charge?Happy Easter all.
A lot of wrist-slitting going here from the looks of it.
The team is playing far better than it did a year ago.
As in the first two matches, the contested game is breaking even (contested possessions -9, clearances +10), but the team is being smashed on the outside, particularly from turnover.
Five of six Bulldogs goals in that second quarter were from turnover.
This team is not as far away from being successful again as most think.
Correct the skill errors, improve decision-making and better options on the outside and things will suddenly start to look very different.
You know what. I don't reckon we're playing as badly as the scoreline suggests. We're just absolutely butchering it up forward. We really should've kicked at least 3 goals in each of those quarters.
And yes. The fact that we didn't is because we're playing badly. I think it's just a different kind of badly than just straight being slaughtered.
We're actually decently competitive in general play and are getting it forward plenty at least.
Of who's playing today, only Reid ( if he stays), Long,Ginbey, Waterman, Brockman, Hough, with the jury still out on Maric, Chester, Edwards, Jamieson will be of any value in 5 yrs, the rest will be either retired or moved on. So we will be adding 3 players a year to the list each year from now at a minimum. I see it being a lot longer than 5yrs, hope I'm wrong but we have far too many on this list who would not get a game anywhere elseJust don’t understand this kind of thinking. Yeah we’re bad and clearly have some players out there who aren’t AFL quality. But it’s not unfixable. The contested side of our game is already better in patches this first few rounds than it was last year. Skills are woeful but that’s a reflection of the fact we aren’t winning any easy footy. The kids will improve, we’ll hit the draft again and slowly get better. The idea we’ll be down for a decade is ridiculous
I can agree with that.
Keep Simmo till eoy, pay him out -get good draft picks - reload with a new coach
He's had a bad day. Relax. If Crippa can’t kick simple shots at goal he’s not worth sticking with
