Probably doesn't qualify as it's not a gif, but this classic clip seems to summarise everything about North over the last, say, five to eight years. False hope, slight uplift, only to sink back down and be smacked in the face time and time again (or doing the smacking to ourselves). Personally, the 'I'm going to make it!' vibe is how I felt when we hired Clarkson. Surely we will successfully 'jump the gorge' one of these days!
