To be fair, we had 3 of our starting back 6 out and our midfield was always going to give up first use.
19 feels like getting off lightly tbh.

Well thats the best loss Ive seen under Ross Lyon mkII. They got touched up in the first 1/4 and then RTB gave them an good old time spray and they responded. Brisbane had a lot of things go their way with the calls that helped big time.

After half time RTB threw the magnets around and things started to improve. Caminiti might have a career as a marking intercept defender, he didnt look at out place playing on Daniher. Playing Campbell and Marshall worked well together and I though Campbell offered a big bdy that was more than useful. I just wished RTB would have changed them more in the forward line.

Sinclair bog for Saints.
Marshall just never stops trying gives 200% every week, I dont know what he is like but deserves the captaincy.
Higgins 5 goals brilliant.
Butler and King servicable.
Henry and Jones into the middle gave us some speed out of the centre.
Shoenmaker did enough to deserve more games.
Wilkie Mr reliable again excellent game.

had a nearly game could have ended with 4 or 5 goals.
Dow & Windhager both servicable.
Wilson will be a star - no doubts.
Caminiti brave to play out with a dodgy ankle and then take a number of strong marks in defence.
Owens good first half,later not as effective.

Steele quiet for his standards
Cordy terrible, Howard is better and was missed to match up on Daniher.
Bonner simply shouldnt be playing AFL football the guy plays bruise free footy.
Seb Ross is totally cooked shouldnt be still getting games.
Battle very quiet bordering on poor game, no influence for a guy wanting 900k per year????
Clark is a liability against quicker hard running sides.
Hill's kicking is over rated IMO.

Good to see some more attacking flare tonight with the gameplan, was worried Ross was stifling the natural instincts of players.

Not sure we can persist with Jones and Ross moving forward, time to move on with them.

Our midfield is just way too pedestrian. Too many similar players. Clark showed a bit but plays 56% game time? Surely that can’t be a fitness thing. Why does he need to start on the bench every quarter, can’t be great for his confidence.

Quicker game style. Less negativity. Less time for Battle to read play and sag off. Weird thing to focus on.

Great game, huge improvement.

I much prefer us with 2 rucks, and Marshall resting forward on occasion.

Higgins is our best forward.

Having the second ruck didn't hamper Marshall at all and helped our clearence work significantly. Another thing I hope we persist with.

All true but Rohan needs help. We all know we have an average midfield but Campbell's hit outs made us look so much better.
Henry into the guts with a tiring Brisbane midfield was inspiring.

Brisbane two byes to us zero, 6 day break, missing half our backline, and we finished over the top of them.
Brisbane are frauds. A bit more composure from us and a bit less incompetence from the umpires and we win.

We won the clearances but kicked it to a defender more often than not.

Campbell has always been a better tap ruckman then RoMa.

In the last when Henry went into the middle we looked ok.

Our midfield is terrible, let's not pretend it's not because of one papercrack game.

We had a weird team selected with not much defensive cover for smalls or talls in defence. I thought we looked good considering our rebound off HB was out with Nas. That's where so much of our drive comes from and we let a lot leak because of the lack of accountable smalls.

Our midfield is a problem but with a good ruck it looks a lot better. I liked the attacking game and think there is a lot more to work with than I did a week ago.

I've said it for years that the midfield is the worst in AFL but that shows you can cover it through handwork and strategy. Probably a gun mid off being a serious side and a small forward that can add some fire power.


Paddy Dow is really important. If he can get better with fitness our midfield looks a bit deeper and Steele was on track to be back in B and F form before he got injured this year. We need list improvements but not a rebuild.

Whilst I'm disappointed we lost, I've had a great day.
Flew up on the same plane as the Sandy team and got to experience the Gabba for the 1st time.
It's a great venue to watch football!
The last qtr was bloody exciting.
Great effort from the Hammer. He could barely walk at the end of the game.
And I got to see The Maker's debut.

He's not doing it for me. Hopefully he's just not at 100% yet. His production is so low and his skill set isn't good enough to carry it. Hunter Clark played similarly low production but he is able to use his possession to hurt when he does get it.

I reckon we're seeing match fitness issues for those two, short break and travel. Keep playing them, they are best 22

I enjoyed that loss and feel more positive than I did from last week's win.

The coaching from the box was sub standard for mine however to see the boys get so close and put on a good score in the hardest road trip in the AFL is great signs moving forward.

+King not shrugging his shoulders and keeps presenting. Much improved but i still don't trust him form. Needs to keep showing it.
+Higgins super
+Butlers role is very important to the side
+Caminiti did some nice things. Why wasn't he played in defence from the start of the year?
+Henry is great for us moving forward and bad for Freo. He has a lot star potential.
+Shoenmaker is best 22 on upside alone. Keep playing him and make him a permanent fixture in said 22.
+If Campbell keeps getting a game with Marshall i will be happy. We need the height from both of them.
+Wilson, good recovery to impact after a quiet one or two. Was solid.
+Wood and his impact. We are a better team when he is in form.

-Mcluggage ran free it felt like unhindered.
-Zorko had to much say until the game was put beyond reach.
-To much emphasis trying to quieten Neale while not enough from Windhager winning his own ball and impacting
-Berry as an example did impact while doing his job on Steele
-Why does Jones get a game? No, just no.

I don't like us getting a low pick this year. We could even go on a big run and still make finals. No mans land regarding draft picks but we are finding our mojo as a team.
