Would you take Goodwin as coach if Melbourne didn't make the 8?They looked okay early in the season, but now look terrible. I can't see them making the 8, especially now with Petracca out.
I think this the season is really down to three teams (Sydney, Collingwood and Carlton) potentially 4 if Brisbane can continue with the form they showed today. My gut tells me not to trust the Bombers, other than that the other teams will just be fighting it out for 5th-8th
They stopped being the true PAFC in 1997 yet their delusional fan base keep holding onto it….despite Koch and Co gradually erasing everything to do with the Magpies.
Also the cost of sacking a coach mid contract…Its because the game is so small and insular.
The AFL industry is made up of about 1200 people.

Less, about the attention...More the Throwing, Holding, Ducking, Faking. The more likely and obvious explanation is the star players attract the heavy defensive attention and therefore cop the most illegal acts against them.
Amarty had 1 disposal today.... Thats how sh1t our backline is ....
So they looked off pace today?
We're winning that contest. Can Port afford to pay out Hinkleys contract if they sack him end of this year if they miss finals?
What is going to go down for the worst re-signing? Crows before we won a game for the season and now another bottom 4 finish or Port in August before the straight sets exist?
Teams may makes & miss finals on 13 wins.
14 guarantees it.
Both are terrible. Can Port afford to pay out Hinkleys contract if they sack him end of this year if they miss finals?

McAdam wasnt good when he played for them. What justification does Goody have to persist with Petty as a forward and leave McAdam out?
He has the make Finals clause. Hence the August deadline. You know in August if you play Finals or not. Both are terrible.
I still laugh at the Hinkley resigning last year. The whole thing was a massive cluster****. As soon as they made the announcement that they wouldnt look at it until August, they locked themselves into making a decision then. Once Port had their run of wins they were almost forced to give him a new contract. All they had to say was they would look at it at the end of the year. Then he would have been gone after another straight sets finals exit.
just knew this would happen. its the AFL and a vic club, I mean, cmon. I'm not totally sure where I sit on it still tbh.
I honestly didn’t think it would happen as it opens a can of worms.just knew this would happen. its the AFL and a vic club, I mean, cmon. I'm not totally sure where I sit on it still tbh.
But there were a few on here who were quite arrogantly shut down my casual assumption that Melb would get some form of relief when I mentioned that Melb would have a bit of $ to spend this off season.
They're clearly drawing a line between head injury and any other type of injury.I honestly didn’t think it would happen as it opens a can of worms.
Buyer beware exactly. You win the fight for a player by offering an extended contract to seal the deal and blow others out of the water, you should have to take what might come with that. They're clearly drawing a line between head injury and any other type of injury.
I guess if there's a 'medical retirement' by an independent panel, there's some level of legitimacy to it all.
I'm with Kane on the long term contracts side of things though, Buyer beware.
Ahhhhh he got 2 games and they’ve given Petty the entire season! Blaming McAdam for the 92 point loss to Freo was a bit strange too
