Watching him against the Saints reminded me a lot of Menzel (pre injuries), incredible potential with this kid.

Thing is with him is like others we have seen in the VFL, has a lot of potential but as they say "potential doesn't pay the bills". But what he did against the Saints was nothing we haven't seen before in the VFL. Loves to fly for marks, can kick goals, has pace, and as long as we keep giving him games he will get better.

I don't mind it.

We've seen that Ollie is prone to nerves. I think this could do him a world of good for his confidence.

He should feel like he belongs now, because he does. Go out there and just play your game, and watch them try to stop you.

Deserves to be favourite and imo will only miss out if there's a narrative for the AFL to lean on by picking Wardlaw (no disrespect to him, jeez I'd love him at my club).

Genuinely blows my mind how good this kid is and how well your recruitment team does with these types of pick ups.

Both have been pretty consistent (Reid/Dempsey).

Dempsey has been able to be eased into the AFL and plays on the wing in his 3rd year in a very mature and good team.

As much as I love Ollie... Reid's mission is twice as hard and he is going very well.

Reid is a generational player and will most likely be the best player in the comp in a couple of years, his stats have been awesome and it’s wild that he’s come straight in and been this good, he is in a crap team but does have two exceptional midfielders next to him in Yeo and Kelly and another good young kid in Ginbey.

In defense of Ollie, he’s not like most third year players, he was a speculative rookie pick, he’d barely played any footy before being drafted and his development with 3 AFL preseasons has been remarkable.

Is it harder to stand out in a decent side to a bad side? There’s an arguement that either is correct.

No doubt Reid still wins if he was eligible, but with Ollie’s season being so impressive, if he wins, I don’t think it’s going to have the asterisk many claimed it would.

I agree.

Fingers crossed Ollie can have some more big games to put a full stop on it.

Double fingers crossed Dempsey and Reid are team mates in the future.

I agree with the view. Ried if he finishes off the year strongly will be seen as someone who would have one it.

To be fair I really like Darcy too. I reckon he will prove to be a super star given his attributes. Wild that he and Ollie played u10 footy together…

In term of Dempsey, like you, I hope he can have 3 solid and 1 more outstanding game over the next month…and then I think the Astrix will be less discussed. I don’t think he has it in the bag yet as Wardlaw is a bull and some of the judges will value that highly. He has had a good year and was pretty good again on Saturday.

I have watch Ollie’s highlights a few times. A completely different player to those other stars but his brains and hands (the intercept, the overhead handball) are quite astonishing…
