We probably won't, but we're still in with some sort of a chance. Fremantle and Essendon losing has meant we're still alive. The competition is so even and unpredictable that almost anything could happen. With 2 rounds to go last year GWS sat 10th, and the Bulldogs were looking good in 8th spot. GWS had an extremely tough away game coming up against Carlton, while the Dogs had what appeared a certain win coming up against West Coast at Docklands. The Bulldogs lost that game, missed out on a finals spot, and GWS won their last two and ended up playing in a Preliminary Final. The competition is just extraordinary these days, and there could be plenty of twists over the next two weeks. I'm not a fan of Adelaide but I'll have to barrack for them to win today, as if the Bulldogs lose that will mean another spot in the eight could be gettable. We're not making finals mate.
I’ve been on BigFooty for 17 years, and never even received a warning in all that time - until today. I feel privileged and honoured to join such an elite group.Don't worry about how dirty you get. Enjoy it while you can, I'm sure you'll find a little pond somewhere to wash the filth off
Not at all. There is something severely wrong down there. But Sam McClure said Carlton wants for nothing, has the two best forwards of the last 20 years and if they don't make the Grand Final there's something wrong?
Was he wrong?
Fair point mate I totally understand it's possible and maybe even plausible but I just can't bring myself to be disappointed again. With no inside mids and so many lacking form even if we somehow made it I would hate for it to turn ugly. Sorry about my pessimistic outlook we have just let ourselves down badly this year.We probably won't, but we're still in with some sort of a chance. Semi final hangover, Hollands to Docherty to Acres...At least we had a premiership hangover this year and tons of injuries. What’s Carlton’s excuse?
Dogs might be gettable if they lose tonight. The only team who could lose their spot in the 8 now, is Freo.
Both the Bulldogs and Hawthorn look set to remain in the 8....
Owies, Curnow etcAt least we had a premiership hangover this year and tons of injuries. What’s Carlton’s excuse?
Blues have been suffering their premiership hangover since June when they started celebrating the premiership they hadn't won.At least we had a premiership hangover this year and tons of injuries. What’s Carlton’s excuse?
What suburb? asking for a friendWhat a great day, I am heading off to the ATM machine to withdraw some money and hand out $20 notes to strangers. This is a great day.
Just doesn't get it that mids and flankers who play fast footy, break lines and give forwards much better opportunities trumps having better tall forwards. But Sam McClure said Carlton wants for nothing, has the two best forwards of the last 20 years and if they don't make the Grand Final there's something wrong?

He wanted to catch the early flight to Bali.Curnow off with injury. Didn’t want to be part of the shambles that is this game from Carl-tank any longer.
Agree with the sentiments. Not fussed that we don’t make 8 now I’ve gone through all the stages of grief this year.
We regroup and come back fresh in 2025.
In the meantime we ROLF if Carlton AND Bombres miss finals like they are certain to do. I’m barracking for either Dogs or GWS as they are my least hated. Port Adelaide if push comes to shove.
I don't expect we'll get there either, but we do indeed have a mathematical chance, and while we have that I'll keep hoping!! I just hope the players/coaches are looking at it positively, as we need to think we can win our next two games, and then hope other results keep falling our way.Fair point mate I totally understand it's possible and maybe even plausible but I just can't bring myself to be disappointed again. 100% agree and one big postive from Friday night is our coach McRae seems to be seething.I don't expect we'll get there either, but we do indeed have a mathematical chance, and while we have that I'll keep hoping!! This has been one of the most disappointing years ever from my point of view. Given we have so many old guys among our best players it always seemed likely this might be our last chance to seriously challenge for a while, but even though our injury run has been horrible we still have had enough decent players left to have done much better. Luckily we'll always have 2023 - nothing can take that away from us - but I did want us having one more big year this year!
I'll give you $20 to help out your friend. What suburb? asking for a friend
They had tickets on themselves to win this year's premiership as now their hangover from banging on about how good they areAt least we had a premiership hangover this year and tons of injuries. What’s Carlton’s excuse?
60min on the ground without a stat? What in the hellJust voted for Jordan Boyd as on Carlton's Autopsy thread's Best Player Poll. Will they ban me for that? Voted for Curnow last week.
