Been a very long time since that occurred.
There is some optimism with new coach Ryan Harris.
From what I heard, Gillespie had lost the plot towards the end of last year with his coaching methods and player selections leading to some discontent. Whether or not that is somewhere near the...
My sister, brother in-law, the misses and me did a 4 day personalised tour of the Western Front battlefields of WW1 last year (Belgium and France).
Absolutely awesome. Very, very emotional.
35,000 Australians KIA. When you see the ages of the Aussie killed (18, 19, 21, 22 etc) its so sad...
Bloody horrible in the wet season though.
I used to go up there every 6 weeks with work (for 10 years). The dry season was excellent, the wet season was horrible (my job meant I was outside most of the day).
Used to venture down to Mitchell Street for a few (plenty) of beers and a feed...
Stephenson played for Tasmania in the 1981/82 shield season.
I posted about him on another forum some time back. He was a gun:-
200+ FC games
8600 runs @ 28 with 12 centuries
790 wickets @ 24
Went on a rebel tour of SAF in 1982 which ended with a lifetime ban playing for the WI. Was lifted...
Yep its a bit baffling.
Also, why is Pierson in the line-up? He's 32.
Nothing against him but you would think that the keeper's role currently held by Carey will pass to Inglis (or even Phillipe) in due course. Pierson surely isn't anywhere in that frame?
Well that might be the case but as I stated, it doesn't make it right for him to claim the high moral ground over the Lords incident - which actually wasn't an incident at all. It was a legitimate dismissal, one that Bairstow himself had attempted previously.
Spirit of Cricket BAZ???
Just one of many questionable incidents he was involved in - one only needs to google his name
Absolutely amazing that he chose to take the high moral ground after Lord's in view of his previous history.
I was good friends with an inaugural Crow who played through until 1996.
He said that under Shaw, they would prepare for the team that they were playing that week. Then come game day, Shaw would basically throw the plans out of the window and tell the side that they were going to do things...
Harsha Bhogle was hauled over the coals by the BCCI for apparently his bias against Indian players a few years back.
There were suggestions that Kohli didn't like what he was saying and insisted on him being turfed
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not officially renew...
Stokes does look absolutely shot.
I recall he came back to the England ODI side after announcing his retirement from 50 over cricket? Bad move in hindsight.
Is Morris deserving of all the hype that surrounds him?
I have only seen him in the shorter versions of the game and each time, he's been nothing but cannon fodder.
Reminds me a bit of Shaun Tait...
Yep.
I've got Botham's autobiography and he writes that once Peter Roebuck was given the captaincy, he immediately instigated to have Viv and Joel sacked which the Somerset committee backed him in.
Roebuck was certainly an interesting character.......
