Gold Coast just happy a quality player in his prime chose to go to them. This really hasn't happened much in their history. They over paid to get him but in reality it won't hurt them.
That's not the full story though is it. You're talking about trading out struggling teams arguably best and most consistent player. In his prime, contracted for a long time and has a name famous at the club aswell.
