I heard him say something like this in a radio interview I think. He mentioned he would be the perfect person to bring into any team because he's a caring person. I think it's good that he's confident. You have to be confident to be an a grader. It's a bit counter cultural though and more in...
I love it when people share ' inside knowledge' but I'm taking it all with a large grain of salt. Especially this year with multiple clubs having multiple first round picks you'd think there would be a lot of misinformation getting thrown out there to try and throw clubs off. Of course we...
Brando was an excellent pick 15. It would be better to have been picking 7 or 8 picks earlier though or whatever it would have been. Doesn't Tassie take over the draft in 2026? So we have one more less diluted draft!!!
Sorry they come in and play in 2028 so I assume they get some concessions in...
Tassie will reduce our access to top picks though. I'm having flashbacks to the years we picked up Brandon Ellis and Reece Conca while GC and GWS took the guns
I don't disagree with you in thinking that Jagga and Draper have the highest floors. Both look like they will have very long AFL careers. I also understand the logic of prioritising this at this stage of our list build. If we have a draft like the 2004 one where we picked up Deliedio, Tambling...
I'd love to be wrong about this but I can't see us making finals in the next four years. By then Tarranto and Hopper are in their twilight I would have thought. If I was Blair I'd be building this list now with that in mind. I think Tarranto and Hopper are going to be great players to have...
This is how I'm thinking as well unless it's a big reach. I think if we get Lalor and Jagga (for example) this year and then pick up Dyson Sharp for example next year we probably aren't too far off having the centre square mids sorted.
This is why I asked about Archie L earlier for next year...
There seems to be a clear preference to target mids this year on this board but ideally we can pick up at least one A grade tall forward in the next year or two. While we have a plethora of tall forwards on our list it seems very unlikely we have any A graders coming through. What do people know...
Nathan Freeman's journey would suggest otherwise. As an aside he just featured on Cotchins podcast Shaped. Looks like Trent has a feature in that medium
Really like your analysis here.
Some questions...
If Murphy Reid is still on the board would you take Lindsay ahead of him?
Not a Travaglia fan?
Why Shanahan over Armstrong?
Obviously I don't know the ins and outs but I don't think I'd take Hotton in the top 20. I believe he did his knee in a running drill as opposed to through contact. To me that suggests there is a high likelihood of reoccurrence.
I like speed and think it's important but you do need mids that can get to contest after contest and put in a four quarter consistent effort. For this reason I would take Langford if he's still on the board at 6 if we still have 6 regardless of his lack of pace. I'm not so keen on lightly...
I don't think we should be targetting Cadman in the short to medium term. He will cost us two first round picks. We need the quantity and we have time. Happy to reassess in two or three years but right now we need quantity
I watched the highlights from one of his Coates league games and he fumbled the ball and turned it over by hand a number of times. I thought that was interesting for someone rated so highly for his skill level. Cleanliness for mine is a super important quality. It was just one game but concerning
Will we get 10 and 11 for Bolton or 10 and 18 is now the question??? We have up 12 and 19 for Tarranto and Bolton is a more valuable asset so I think 10 and 11 is fair. What do other people think?
