Smart, & makes sense.
Even if its for 13 & 36, 36 will come in 4 spots with the Kako & Ashcroft bids and its a wide draft.
Picks 10 & 11 will be sought after by a number of clubs on draft night.
Both grounds copped a hammering in the lead up of both senior games, off memory was around 100-120mm for both games.
Might be alright for the small blokes but not ideal for the big units.
For mine he's a must as you just don't see guys his size that are dual sided very often.
Played well on the back end of last year.
Back injury kept him out for big chunk this year but his 5 goals on return created a lot of hype.
Won't be a bad thing if he lands at Punt road.
We did draft that 'useless' ruck 4 years ago.
Right now would you say it's been worth it?
Anyway, who are these best rucks you speak of?
FWIW, I don't mind Dodson but if he's any good it would be better to trade for him in 5 years time.
Moraes is one I'd give a wide berth, does some nice things but his disposal is poor.
Clarke on the other hand I do agree with and should be on our radar with our later picks.
I believe that was the one.
The same game that FOS had 0 tackles & 0 clearances.
Jagga averaged 6.3 clearances & 2 tackles over those games you mentioned.
2 different types in my eyes, both very good at what they do but its not that hard to get high DE% with low numbers.
In the end I'll stick...
I like both Lefau & Bauer but Lefau is 26 & Bauer has only played the 7 games.
You can hardly say we dont need tall / medium forwards with how our current stocks look.
Lynch 32yo - 8 games in 2 years.
Lefau* 26yo - 10 games
Kosi 24yo - 62 games
Bauer* 22yo - 7...
There's a reply from someone in there about Josh Murphy & I agree with it.
Flown under the radar, probably more so to do with fitness base than ability.
Could've kicked 9 or 10 on a couple of occasions this year.
A bit of Stringer in the way he plays.
Firstly I never said anything about not investing in rucks, what I said was "Rookie list or trade for a ready made ruck are always the better options."
Now lets use your example - Nankervis.
Pick 35 in 2013 ND , Swans got 12 games from him before trading him.
We traded pick 46 for a 22yo...
Wouldn't be against that.
Still only a 20yo, getting guys like him that have some of their developement elsewhere through the rookie draft is a better option than the ND .
I don't mind Dodson but the worst type of investment in the draft is a pure ruck.
They take considerablely longer than any other position to be ready to play in the 1's & the majority of the time you're basically clogging a spot on the list for the next 5-6 drafts even if they show promise...
The first scenario might happen but if that trade for 8 you mention goes through before the draft starts ,North will just trade pick 2 to the Saints for #7 & one of the picks we give them.
But you said what club is gunna reach for someone they wont get yet the OP was about if they do match they wipe out all of their picks.
With 4 picks in the early 20's WE can bid.
I'm not saying we want them but it wasn't that long ago both Camporeale & Welsh were in the top 10 to watch out for...
That year bombers first pick was 38 & the Hawks was 52 & the reason they didnt match the bid was because he was crap, everyone knew it.
Good thing Hawthorn didn't waste that pick , they got their man Koschitzke.
And thats the chance both of those clubs need to take, but will they?
Blairs already said he'll bid on players where he see's them at funnily enough not long before the CFL came out warning clubs about side deals come draft time, coincidence?
It should go without saying a few clubs who have...
With so much focus on the #2 pick I can't help but feel a lot of people have the blinkers on.
Its more likely that we get a deal done with the Crows or Blues.
Any bid around #20 on either Camporeale or Welsh with stuff both of those clubs remaining 2024 picks & will also impact their 2025...
I agree with most of this especially the inside 50 threat but the question stands, name the game he was dominant at the centre bounce.
As you stated, there is footage of him online buddy.
And just for some clarity from my side, I've had FOS going at 1 from his U16 days as did most.
Just a...
You lost me at the part involving FOS being damaging at centre bounces, the inside 50 part I agree with though.
We simply dont need to trade #6 for #2 to get the same outcome.
I agree with all of this but I have already said Im aware of what North NEED , every man & their dog knows what they need and its also no secret who they are after.
The point was purely that they dont rate him enough to be 'best available' which is what clubs tend to do with such high picks...
I know full & well what North are after but if you believe the hype about FOS, they have him in the palm of their hand right now.
They can trade next years 1st on its own and still get a pick that gets them a good tall.
I do find it interesting that your reasoning has to do with North's...
