Seems a fair deal for both clubs. Bolton is a perfect fit for Freo and their flag push in the next few years.
Tigers needed picks for a tough rebuild before Tassie control the drafts. Both clubs can come away with what they wanted - thanks to WCE for stumping up pick 14 to make the trade happen.
Definitely need Baker to agree but by tomorrow arvo he might have a choice between Richmond and Freo - if WCE can’t get us a pick inside of 20 by then. Agree Freo is a better fit also.
Blair needs to give Baker and WCE a deadline of midday tmw, otherwise move on the freo offer for Bolton/baker with 10, 11 and 18. and then tidy up the Rioli deal on wednesday. Also….freo happy to do Bolton/baker for 10,11,18 but not Bolton for 10,11 is just bizarre list management…
It’s weird reading some of the Freo posters. They seem more determined to ‘win’ one trade than look at the big picture. They’re close list wise, I reckon they need to push their chips into the middle of the table. Bolton seems perfect for them if they are genuinely wanting to go for a flag…
I hoped for Band 3 but end of the day, we have 340 odd more points than we had yesterday and giving Graham games wouldn’t help our rebuild. No idea why West Coast would offer 4 years…now they pay full freight for Baker.
Surely someone at RFC has given him a deadline, or are we that unprofessional at the moment ? Blair & co need to know what their full hand is for deals
With bids to come on Ashcroft, Lombard if we give up Bolton for 10,18 (likely 12 & 20 or 21 draft night) we will be getting fleeced. Dockers top 2 picks need to be involved.
Depends how a club rates the pool but in this year it probably takes out some key positiin prospects. Plus it’s a slide of 2 at least on the second pick involved. Interesting how this trade plays out, still reckon it will get there.
It’s pick 6 or it doesn’t happen. Both clubs know this, there’ll be something of a late pick back or Richmond will pick up some salary. The noise out of both clubs suggests they both know this. Tigers would keep Rioli ahead of Bolton and baker if they could so they will demand pick 6 is part of...
The unknown in the Bolton-freo trade is how much salary Richmond might pay. If it’s 9 & 16, doubt tigers pay a cent, 9 & 10 if could be 300-400 a year. No one will ever know where it lands but a bunch of people will claim a trade victory without knowing the $.
Agree. Plus we are going to be miles under 95% of cap so if it takes contributing a few $ over the next few years to get better picks in trades, then that can be accommodated. After the 2022 trade stuff ups, this is Richmond”s best shot for a quality rebuild.
Suspect it’ll be 9 & 10, maybe a bit of wrangle over tigers paying a bit of contract for at least 2 years. Tigers are going to $2-3m below 95% of salary cap soon with departures so money to burn for next 2 years.
Another average performance. Going to be a tough few years but we reload with picks and hopefully some good kids. Great to see off a few legends today !
