We actually won the game discussed in the OP. It was the late season home and away game up at the GABBA, with that home prelim against Brisbane not until 1 month later.
Yep deadset, we are playing a team that got smashed by 15 goals a week ago who just scraped by tonight and look banged up and we are playing at our home deck on the SCG.
Could not hope for a better chance in a prelim final than that
GWS as they will be the 'easiest' match up on that side of the draw.
Brisbane are better than GWS and the MCG advantage Geelong has over any non victorian team means we'd want to avoid them if possible too.
And wouldn't it be sweet if we can knock off GWS for the 4th time this season and beat...
He sounds like he is gone at the end of the season based on his answer to the question of North having any interest in him and if they've spoken to him/his management
Freo are favs to beat Port today.
No way GWS would want to finish 4th and be underdogs against us when they could win and finish 2nd and be starting strong favs against either Geelong or Port
This selection squeeze if everyone is available will be fascinating.
I think Parker starts now. Comes down to Campbell or Adams as the 23rd man and unfortunately for Taylor I think he’s going to be the unlucky one. Campbell sub.
Adams, Fox and Cleary all handy backups if there are any injuries.
Looking like a repeat of 2016 when we finished 1st vs GWS 4th.
Hopefully a different result this time and at least it will be at the SCG this time around
The betting line (expected margin) for the Geelong/West Coast game is 50 points. If Geelong win by 50 points then GWS must get within 20 points of Western Bulldogs to remain above Geelong on %.
So GWS are very slightly favoured to get 3rd over Geelong, but there is very little in it.
