Actually the opposite. We’ve had heaps of early draft picks over the past few years so the case could easily be made for trading a pick for established talent. The rule exists so teams don’t ignore the draft which we certainly haven’t.
I don’t mind either. Reckon the pending departures of Jack Martin and Callum Ah Chee (and possibly others?) will only increase the likelihood/justification for awarding them Pick #1 as a PP.
It certainly wasn't looking pretty, but pick 3 for pick 7/8 + 19 is a loss for them. Especially given the apparent evenness of those outside the top 2 and Adelaide's need to bring in fresh talent. They don't have first round picks to give away.

I really don’t understand this decision. If we don’t have room for Daisy, then I’d expect to see all of Lobbe, Polson, Garlett, Kerr, Lang, Schumacher and Fasolo gone at the end of the year.

Really hard to split these three. I’d go with Harry at #1 because he has the potential to be the best genuine key forward since Nick Riewoldt and at the very least he should be extremely good.
Weiters has the lowest ceiling (only because the others are so high) but he’s forming as an equally...
