This was obvious from the moment the story broke.
We lost what should have been a 5 goal win because too many of our players (and a fair few supporters) thought the game was won before the first bounce.
Again- a learning experience hopefully. But it hurts because we could have snatched a flag...
1) I was a huge supporter of Ginnivan right up until he posted the shit on Grundy's Social Media. As I said at the time it indicated complacency. I was proved %100 correct. He has to own it and so do the supporters. Burying heads in the sand won't help him or the club or supporters going...
Well I usually try to look for silver linings such as this but the fact is GInni's first goal was handed to him by Morrison (who won the important contest) and the second came from a poor Port turnover after Burgoyne had, once again, won a contest up field and got Port going forward through the...
I didn't say that did I?
All I said was that Ginnivan's post sounded complacent. I was assured it wasn't and that he was a "character" etc etc...
Well he, like Hawthorn, seemed shocked when Port came out to play. Like they didn't expect a contest. They got one.
We stablisied and should have...
What made a difference was Ginnivan's opponent being best on ground and Ginnivan being among our worst.
It might have made no difference to Port but GInnivan's post smacked of personal complacency and, I'm afraid, given what happened out on the ground, it played out exactly that way. He acted...
Last time we played Port, Ginni had 3 possessions 1 Turnover in the last quarter when the game had to be won.
Hopefully he uses this "confidence" to play a bit better when the game is hot :thumbsu:
This one affects the team and not just himself. Poor by Ginnivan. You never ever give the opposition coach something they can use as motivation. Thought he was smarter than that
Keep being surprised by this outfit. Always thought the winner of this game was a massive shout for the flag but assumed Doggies would just have a bit more than us at this stage.
