Player Watch #46: Robert Hansen Jnr - Extends to End 2025

I just don’t see a spot for him if he’s not replacing one of Curtis or Zurhaar. 2 key forwards min (sometimes running with 3) and then rotating Parker, sheez & FOS as high half forwards. Probably leaves Duursma or a “specialist small forward” fighting for a spot on the bench.

Player Watch #46: Robert Hansen Jnr - Extends to End 2025

As a hybrid, he needs a ground game. With the stats provided by ferball, it seems like Cam and Paul ARE putting on the pressure. So my point is why do we need a specialist small forward? And whose spot is he taking? FF. Curtis Larkey Zurhaar HF. FOS, Darling, Parker

Commentary still talking about Boland as a back-up bowler. Is that because he is a permanent Victorian?

Player Watch #46: Robert Hansen Jnr - Extends to End 2025

This apparent need for a specialist small forward is a massive cop out for Curtis, Zurhaar and co. I think you are splitting hairs with the small forward classification. Curtis is a small forward, don’t care how tall he is or how he plays. If he is not putting on forward pressure, then he is...

Player Watch #7: Zane Duursma - out for 2024, undergoing shoulder surgery

Yet the emphasis has always been on drafting midfielders with early picks, with the occasional key position player here and there.

Player Watch #7: Zane Duursma - out for 2024, undergoing shoulder surgery

Duursma’s ceiling is higher than Watson’s imo. No.5 pick in the draft for a small forward, you’d want to be the best small forward in the game.

I would be content with a season where we are unbeaten against * and finish above them. Even if it’s only 6-7 wins. In fact I would be over the moon.

Player Watch #22: Taylor Goad - #20 in '23 ND - the Unicorn

Goad wasn’t up to playing VFL last season. He’s an athletic profile and that’s about it atm. Don’t know how anyone can assess how good he could be at this point in time. Glad to hear he has put on some size, because Caleb Daniel could have pushed him under the ball last season. That’s his first...

Poort and the * filth are 2 peas in a pod. • would have been in his ear the minute he got drafted. Hopefully Zane has a good 2025 and becomes invested in the group.

Training 2025 Pre-Season - Standards are currently being driven

I have plenty of expectations, you can keep the optimism… I want to see it. It’s time to demand improvement next year or heads should roll. No excuses left. 3 pre-seasons under the new regime, we have experience and games into the kids.

Player Watch #14: Luke 'Gav' Urquhart - selected with Pick 57 in the ND - Welcome to North Melbourne

I think we need what he will bring to the midfield, hardness and 2 way running. Can’t just leave it all up to the warlord to bring the heat.

Training 2025 Pre-Season - Standards are currently being driven

Last year it was “sick of losing”, this year its “standards are being driven”. It’s all talk. It doesn’t matter how ripped they look in still photos, or how they play against each other in match sim. It means nothing until we show something against other teams. Long wait ahead until we can...

Lmac shouldn’t be captain because I believe the captain should be in the top 10 players at the club, top 6 really. But who here really knows what his captaincy skills are like? I think we just go off the fact the team keeps loosing.

AFLW #?: Eilish Sheerin - NM trade Pick 18 to Richmond for Eilish.

I’m not a fan of all chips in, win as many premierships as possible now then fall off a cliff. We are in a strong position, our aim should be perennial contenders for decades to come. So 30-40 years from now we are the team with the most premierships. That’s how you build foundations for a club...

If I was on a 20 game losing streak and my opponent laid down to let me win, I would forfeit the match. The GC laid down, there was no merit in the win, the result meant nothing “for the club”.
