Not that my opinion means any more than anyone else but after seeing training this is how I think we'll line up for r0:
Andrews, Payne, Lester
Zorko, Willmott, Starc
Bailey, Neale, Berry
Fort, Dunkley, W.Ash
Rayner, Kai, Charlie
Day, Hipwood, Morris
Mccluggage, Fletcher, Ah Chee, Answerth...
Went down to training again this morning - a bit of a different session with a heavy focus on taking corridor kicks and inside 50s.
A lot of the guys in rehab last week trained almost fully today.
No training - Doedee, kiddy, smith
Laps/skills - Mcclugage, Rayner, Starc, Gardiner, hipwood -...
If I had to pick one for r0 I'm picking AA premiership player, rather than the guy off an ACL.
I do agree that both may not work together but that's for Fages to work out. We did play Rich/Birchall together and Rich/Coleman.
Came 2nd in our b&f and gives us so much drive. Not sure why we're relegating him to sub now.
No issue with subbing him off or resting him as the season goes on but he 100% starts in the team until he shows he isn't up to it or gets injured.
A couple of things I missed - of the guys outside the 22 at the end of the year Id think Tunstill and Bruce are next in line. McKenna looked good, as did Answerth.
Bailey also looked sharp.
Popped down to training today for the first time at a Lions preseason training - what a beautiful setting Springfield is surrounded by bush, once you get out there.
I'll stick to the positives:
Logan Morris was the standout - as has been reported he's changed his body shape. He's not huge but...
Hey all - I made it down to training this morning to take a look. They started about 9:20 - no public access for 'non-open' training but you have a pretty good view from the fence.
I'll post a few photos below of your forward and mid groups as they probably mean a bit more to you guys than me...
Hey, sorry I've asked this previously - but if anyone has any Intel on training schedule next week I'll be in Brisbane 🙏 🙏. Heard 4pm Wednesday - maybe Springfield maybe not so will be there at this stage.
I'm probably at 1000 training reports read and 0 contributed so have some making up to do...
Anyone know what time training is on? I live in the area and wouldn't mind going down Monday or Tuesday and checking out all the new guys. Happy to report back.
100% agree. Also stats don't flatter wingmen so reckon Jaspa does a lot of stuff that doesn't get measured but the coaches see. He's a smart player.
You don't drop a #12 draft pick coming in to his 3rd year - he has enourmous potential and could be a genuine a-grader himself.
A few notable...
Absurd that 4 premiership players are emergencies the game after a grand final, and another isnt in the best 26 (McKenna).
That's ignorning first round pick Sam Marshall, the guy who was leading our B&F at round 7 (Linc) and guys who have played very servicable footy for us recently - Shadeau...
Just saw he's only listed at 183cm - he seems to play (and move) much taller. I'm sure someone can correct me but I thought he was a forward as a kid?
Also seems like he's got pace...didn't look that way on TV but I stand corrected.
He looked incredible at times - good size, good hands and good kick but as you said he got found out a few too many times - whether because of his positioning of lack of pace. I hope he can find a way in to the team.
I don't think he's a small - more an undersized 3rd tall. He could be Froggys...
Just go GA and find a seat. Wherever you fancy on the top or bottom level. MCG holds 100k and there will be 50k there so near enough to 50k seats to choose from (ignoring AFL and mcc members)
