    Player Watch #1: Steven May – 2x All-Australian FB

Sorry I misread, didn't realise you referring to the Darcy knee. 100% agree there mate. The rotten act goes unpunished and the guy going the ball gets dinged. AFL really showing where they stand.

    Player Watch #1: Steven May – 2x All-Australian FB

I don't think you put this one on Christian, I think it's fine it was put up for tribunal, talk it through. You just hope they reach the right decision and we go forward knowing where we stand and the game is healthier because of it. This is not that. This is rotten and is truly the first time...

    Player Watch #1: Steven May – 2x All-Australian FB

Just to add to this, our guy Durham got 2 weeks for an actual tuck and bump into Cerra's head. The argument is cerra attacked the ball poorly but it doesn't excuse what Durham did when he gave up winning the ball and bumped. May was only attacking the ball. It's always been that way, make the...

    AFL Player # 2: Sam Draper - Achilles, season done - 18/4

I'm starting to think this might happen and admittedly as someone who wanted him gone it's making me nervous.

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - 2x 1sts, 2x 2nd round picks, and 12 months to go

I don't think I've ever wanted to draft a player more. Will follow his career with interest.

Hot Topic The Rebuild, est. 2023 and/or 2025

I don't think any of them reach what their full potential is/was if they are picked by us. What happens to McGrath if he goes to a team that properly develops him and teaches him how to see the field better as a mid? I don't think his role is reduced to a lockdown defender who you don't want...

Hot Topic The Rebuild, est. 2023 and/or 2025

I think the concern is the passive acceptance by some posters of their careers not working out here. Players leave clubs all the time, many times a change in environment or role assists with a turn around in form. Most people accept that. What can be frustrating for many with this club in...

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

He's been in the industry 30 years and had his hands in 5 or so premierships as head of fitness department. He built that port side into a fitness machine the year they won it. Then obviously 4 flags with Hawks. Also had a hand in our 2000 premiership for those that don't know. Not entirely...

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

Murphy is his understudy, is assume we will steer clear of the philosophy and not go back to that well. We will end up with someone from WA or linked to the Eagles if our past recent hires are any indication

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - 2x 1sts, 2x 2nd round picks, and 12 months to go

I think it's the leadership and size plus the ready made nature of his game that made me take notice. A leader to play the defensive/structure role at stoppages that can also accumulate im pretty keen on. We need to upgrade setterfield. The transition hurt side can be played by...

    Recruiting AFL Draft Watch 2025 - 2x 1sts, 2x 2nd round picks, and 12 months to go

For those that watch under 18s, Dyson Sharp and Sam Cumming. Ones we might take a look at? Everything I've heard about Sharp kind of sounds like what we need?

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

Russell was one of the top fitness managers in the league from the port Adelaide days to the hawks years. One bad year doesn't undo all that work. Maybe the game evolved past him, maybe it was bad luck, maybe he really was sidelined which led to the injuries.

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

You don't understand how the guy sitting at the top of a program who sets the entire program is responsible for when players get injuries?

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

That's taking his comments a bit out of context mate. Yes I know he said that you have to push them and you may lose a few but it was more around the higher risk nature of that level of training. Edit- Not that I think there is a risk of getting him. Murphy comes from his tree I wouldn't be...

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

With how we have gotten so many WA linked guys in I'd suggest the Eagles guy will be odds on favourite.

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

Does an entire department change just because a new head is appointed? That's what I'd be keen to understand. Is it just the top guy who sets the plan and everyone is already there bar maybe a few (like when a new coach comes in and inherits the same assistants). Or is it a full reset and guys...

    AFL Player #47: Oskar Smartt

I feel like between he and Kako they are stronger over the ball then some of our midfielders. Probably not at the level tbh, but hope he gets few more games at the level.

Game Day Round 19: Essendon v GWS, Marvel Stadium, 17/7/25 7.30pm AEST

I give up, you can see what you want to see.

Game Day Round 19: Essendon v GWS, Marvel Stadium, 17/7/25 7.30pm AEST

I guess there is a reason witness statements aren't great to be relied on. He didn't get the handball.off it got knocked out and the gws player didn't have every idea that the ball was gone. He didn't sling him and it wasn't overly aggressive for the situation.

Game Day Round 19: Essendon v GWS, Marvel Stadium, 17/7/25 7.30pm AEST

Guys Durham tried to split the two of them and got tackled. It wasn't dirty

Game Day Round 19: Essendon v GWS, Marvel Stadium, 17/7/25 7.30pm AEST

Giants going about 50% effort but our guys are having a real dip. All you can ask

    AFL Player # 5: Elijah Tsatas - Hamstring, won't play v GWS - 16/7

Someone has gotten something very very wrong somewhere. We can't even evaluate the talent at AFL level before it gets injured.
  23. Mercurial89

Roast Our general fitness, strength and conditioning. - head of high performance sacked 18/7

It also takes tendons longer to adapt and get stronger vs muscles. So whilst we are pouring time spent under load into the athletes the muscle adaptations occur and the tendon lags behind. It's possible this is all that's happening with our guys, or is playing a role in some of these injuries...

Teams Kansas City Chiefs - War Paint

Considering it's the exact contract everyone knew he would sign in Feb its odd it took this long (2 hours before deadline) to get it done. Zero leaks from both sides suggests they weren't that far apart to be pushing agendas through media. Happy he's staying. McDuffie next.

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Confirmed ACL, season done - 13/7

It was already going to be a long few years as we collected top end talent and moved off the long term contracts we stupidly handed out to limited players. It certainly does suck for Martin and you wish it wasn't a serious injury but it opens up opportunity for someone to step up in his absence...

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Confirmed ACL, season done - 13/7

Every time I've seen a player come back early it's usually been on the back of an unusual amount of strength and prework prior to surgery allowing them to get off crutches and get their flexion back earlier after the actual surgery. I don't know the protocols for an ACL recovery and how those...
