Yeah it’s a worry and we would love to have Dear and Lewis out there. Hoping they both can get back at some stage during the season.
But we still have Chol. And then we have Ramsden. He has finally put on some size after a couple of preseasons, taken a couple of strong pack marks during...
100 years coming up for the HFC this year. In its existence won a premiership 13% of the time, since 1961 won a premiership every decade and on average a premiership every 4.8 years ……. will be interesting to watch this group over the next 7 years. Exciting times for the poos and wiz!
Overseas at the moment so when that vid came through and first saw that mark by the Wiz I thought finally! At training on a lead he often likes to leap early to mark the ball and has that jack in the box vertical spring. Put other players in the mix/around him they will be used as a ladder...
Like the look of Kobe. In the match sim did a couple of really nice one touch gathers under pressure followed by a quick handball/kick to a teammate ……. can be overwhelming for a kid surrounded by seniors but he didn’t panic. And the boys went in pretty hard today!
Staying on the topic Wiz and Croc are in the current Hawks best 22 so they are not considered depth.
Now trying to keep it as simple for you as possible to stay on the topic with this question is Frenchie/Ward/Finn/CJ/Reeves/Frost as a collective group of players better than...
Seriously complete waste of time and iCloud space. You were laughing and mocking the current Hawks depth compared to the depth it had during its three peat. I provided you with a response including two groups of players. You ignored it ……. and now respond with a totally new...
Simpson, Hartung, Litherland, Langford, Spangler, Ceglar ….. these were the depth players during the three peat period.
I think Frenchie, Ward, Finn, Frost, Reeves, CJ as a collective group today is better depth so not sure what you find so funny. I think that many on here just don’t have a...
If any coach can manage expectations I think we got him. Thr morning training on the opposite wing to the stand they were doing a drill and Sam wanted to say something to the small group of players and said, ‘come in’. I think because the drill only had a boundary/area of maybe 40 by 30 metres...
Yeah with Wiz and Ginni they seem to be running and doing some activities while sitting out of the high intensity/body contact type of stuff. More precautionary 🤞
Just a couple of things from yesterday’s training that stood out so will keep it short and sweet.
Croc is known for his his skill/class and offensive traits …… but his pressure and efforts off the ball is a bit underrated. Always looks to tackle and when he closes in/puts pressure on player...
Fans feel like crap every time one of their player goes down to an injury but sometimes a player is found ….. the player that steps in rises to the occasion given the opportunity presented. It can sometimes make the coaches do something they wouldn’t have! Anyway good luck to Newman as I do...
I am not fazed with the Walsh v Newk argument Blues fans are happy with Walsh and Hawks absolutely love what Newk brings to the table so can’t understand why it’s just not left at that. As I’ve said before a midfielder under Sam’s coaching is far from conventional. This year our half forwards...
Nah Cripps will be busy dealing with Nash! He is always assigned to the oppositions biggest mid such as Cripps, Bont etc as he can easily match them in strength, size, run, great tackler and competitor and can find the ball as well
You are comparing apples to oranges. The argument around depth is comparing Frenchie/Frost/Ward/Finn etc to players at other clubs who are not in their best 22, ie. not comparing them to the best 22 at other clubs!!!!! It’s not that hard to understand what depth is ….. seriously.
Hawks didn’t have a bench as good as that during its three peat 😂. And then with Frost, Finn, Frenchie, Ward, Morrison, Blanck, Reeves all capable AFL players with AFL experience sitting in the wings …… that’s pushing close to 30 players on the list. Best depth at the club in years which you...
Was very good busy in the engine room as usual. He did a lovely 20/25mtr Hodge like handball. Did extra touch work at the end of training he’s a pro
The midfield battle was fun to watch from memory the golds had Day/Nash/Huss/Meek versus the browns with Newk/Worps/Frenchie/Reeves. Great to...
Watching these two doing some solid repetitive runs along the boundary line together shoulder to shoulder was a highlight for me today ……. they are not just making up numbers they are playing for spots! Hawthorn greats!
Fair enough impossible to predict re the Blues but off the top of my head on the Hawks you have been clear that they will miss finals, at best have an average midfield, Newk ain’t that good etc ……. but like you say let’s see how it pans out this season vs real opposition.
He was good today they played 2*15min quarters and Frenchie was part of the nicest pieces of linking play for the day where Battle was streaming out of defence then kicked a lovely pass to Frenchie who turned quickly and delivered a beautiful pass to a leading Dimma who kicked truely from 40...
Cripps is big, strong, an absolute bull and one of the best in congestion but put someone on him that breaks even …… you will more often than not win the midfield battle against the Blues.
Blues midfield could struggle against the top teams as you need a few hard nuts to get you through a long...
The Scott pile on here is weird and that’s coming from a Hawks fan!
With Clarko and now Sam over the last 2 decades we never needed another coach …… but I bet every other club would love to have had Scott. Over many years you can pull out small snippets of critical behaviour on any coach or...
