Preview 2025 AFL Season, Round 22: Richmond Tigers v St Kilda Saints, M.C.G, Wurundjeri, 1:20pm Saturday, 9th of August

Don't want that to happen. It would take away a very competitive advantage of being able to tell Port we'll re-draft NWM if you don't offer up a fair deal. Guess that explains why Port have been so shite in recent weeks.

USA Policy positions of Donald Trump; let's see how many he achieves

If you compare the economic predictions when Trump took office to the realities 6 months later, growth is 50% lower than predicted, inflation is 30% higher than predicted, jobs growth has declined and the only areas where it is expanding is in areas like health care where the punters have little...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management discussion - part 2

Yep - I think the list strategy is quite clear - amass the best array of talent under 26 that will then stay together for at 4 to 5 years with the ultimate aim being the 2nd Saints premiership. And the closer we get to that goal, the more likely it is that a group that has united together wont...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management discussion - part 2

I hear what you're saying but if $500K of TDK's salary for the first 3 years was going to be paid out of "use it or lose it" banked savings then that skews the "highest paid" tag for his wage. As for Aleer - the way I see it is that it will be Aleer and Howard (on a reduced amount) as our tall...

List Mgmt. 2025 List Management discussion - part 2

Like everyone else (including the media) I'm guessing, but I always take 10% to 20% off the "media" price. They love big figures and usually add on every possible incentive payment to make the figure look even higher.

So if this was to be believed then who is the mystery "recruit" that throws a spanner in the works that would require offloading players or a back ended deal given that NWM $1.5M. TDK $1.5M, Leek Aleer $750K is all doable. Can't be a cheapie if this is to be believed.

Butters is a very very good player but essentially the only comparisons I can come up with for NWM @ 22 is a young Andrew McLeod or a young Chris Judd. Upside has barely been scratched. Will be a much more valuable player than Butters.

    Speculation Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

Thats funny - I saw this and thought exactly the opposite - sounds more like Port are more than happy to shop Butters right now if he's OK with the idea and does plan to head back to Melbourne at some point of time.

  13. pebblesofsand

    Speculation Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

Nah it's just another sign of a crappy second rate competition masquerading as "professional". Father/son, academy picks, uneven fixturing, players demanding big money but only on their terms - it's all a bit of a farce.
  14. pebblesofsand

    Speculation Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

A player can play whereever they like - nothing stopping any uncontracted player signing up for West Lakes - I hear they are looking for players. If an uncontracted player signs up for the AFL draft, they do so in full knowledge that are also agreeing to play for whichever team selects them and...

    Speculation Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera

Not completely up on Ports reporting structure but isn't Chris Davies Jamie Jason Cripps boss? I thought thats why he was talking about what might be involved if Butters was part of a trade.
  16. pebblesofsand

Rumour Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - where will he be in 2026?

Yeah Butters would be a start. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=16&playerStatus2=A&tid2=14&type=A&pid1=6954&pid2=6616&fid1=S&fid2=S Then perhaps you can chuck in Bergman and that should square it up nicely.

He's a "ruckman" - couldn't possibly think he could provide a contest in the fwd line. Best thing was that he gets to the right spots and being 204 cm and 100kg's means he's wins a few free kicks. Unfortunate his kicking was off a bit today - usually a very reliable set shot.

Autopsy Saints beat North in close one and Naz gives his biggest hint yet that he’s staying.

Ross - I might have mentioned it once or twice before but that Max Heath bloke looks like he could fill a spot as a standby tall fwd if we ever had a situation where injuries left a bit short in the fwd half.

Well - will this be the day when we start well, increase our lead in the 2nd, then pile on 6 or 8 in the 3rd, then cruise through the 4th allowing long suffering Saints supporters a rare opportunity to actually sit back and enjoy the whole of a game.

If he gets a run I hope he's learnt his lesson. Small pressure fwd getting injured contesting mark sandwiched between Gawn and Marshall. Perhaps a spot "front and centre" might be a better option from now on.

Stocker ended up playing mostly as a "tall" defender. So I'd cut him some slack for last weeks game.
