Frankston are playing Tasmanian down in Hobart in Round 1 since we've got the bye.

From what I understand they've finished laying the new turf at Frankston but it'll need a couple months before it's ready for use. April 11th is the date I've heard for getting access to the ground and we're set to have byes and away games for the first few weeks of the season.

Dad and I were talking last night about doing a weekend trip to Ballarat for the carnival. Glad we've waited before booking anything.

VFL Rewind posted on Facebook that it would be at Ballarat. Is Cragieburn unavailable as well? I figured it would be there if it was just a matter of Frankston being unavailable.

I heard it was heading back to Cragieburn since Frankston's not available.

Yeah our ground is out of commission due to works being done on the playing surface. The official completion date is the 11th of April with plans to hold our first home game around Anzac Day. In the meantime the men's team are training at Belvedere and the wonen's teams train at Kananook Reserve.

First block of pre-season started in November I think. They're finishing up for tomorrow and probably resuming sometime in January.

Jackson Kornberg gave an update at the club's drinks night tonight. About 35 players signed so far, up from 22 or so at this time last year.

Nothing concrete at this stage. I'll see if it gets brought up at the members' drinks night on Friday.

I will complain once and then shut up until February next year. Not having a fixture out until mid-February (basically a month before the season starts) is incredibly lazy and unprofessional by the AFL. The entire AFL draw is out now so why does it have to take so long for the VFL?

MPFNL has released the women's Division 1 fixture for 2025. Div 2 and 3 still being organised.

Round 1 fixture is out for men's Division 1 and 2, netball, and women's Division 1. Looks like the league has decided to promote Edi-Asp women's to Div 1 in order to even out the league.

Princes Park has also been ruined as a venue in my opinion. With two of the old stands demolished and the other two not usable by spectators, the entire ground has a very disjointed, mangled feeling to it. At it's peak capacity it would have been the perfect venue for it.

I'll be keen to pick up a copy as soon as I get back from the States.
