I also lived in Syndal in the 60s (Glen Waverley High U15s) and John was our local grocer.
It was always a buzz to go into the shop and see him, usually stacking boxes.
Commiserations to all those who knew him well.
RIP John, hope we do it for you again on Friday.
Our run in the 2016 finals is hard to beat.
V West Coast, backs against the wall, injury clouds, given no chance, playing in front of baying West Coast fans.
V Hawthorn, pricked their premiership balloon and Bont took down Hodge.
V GWS, an overwhelming sea of Dogs supporters poured in and booed...
It pisses me off that three of our key left footers, Naughton, Jamarra and Bont, all have the annoying habit if slicing set shots from gettable distances.
It is very predictable.
Surely someone can rectify this.
Chris Scott is a miserable prick.
They beat themselves, apparently.
They had a number of players who were "off".
They kept kicking the ball to our players
We took advantage of some half chances.
He stamped his card on AFL360 after we won the grand final.
Refused to give any credit to Beveridge...
Fantastic win against all the odds.
The desperation to get the ball or spoil or smother was off the charts.
There were glitches but this is not the day to criticise anyone.
Not much on here about Khamis yesterday, whether he was good, bad or indifferent.
I'm going indifferent, at best.
Lacks physical presence, easily pushed off the ball.
Jones can't come back soon enough.
Gerard just came out and said it this week on AFL 360.
He said Heaney is probably leading the Brownlow count but Bontempelli is the best player in the comp.
At the SCG one day for a Dogs-Swans game and Croft was playing in gloves.
As he ran past a Swans fan yelled out "got a handbag to match your gloves, Croft?"
It still cracks me up.
Not sure where to put this, but who has fond memories of state of origin footy?

Our intensity today was much improved on last week.
We looked soft against Melbourne.
I didn't like Gawn roughing up Harmes with no response.
It reminded me of JJ getting the treatment from Sydney with no response.
Today, at least, we were prepared to throw our weight around.
We were Keystone Cops after the first 5 minutes.
No cohesion, fumbles galore, tackles shrugged off with ease, terrible disposal.
And worst of all.. no mongrel.
They should be embarrassed.
