As a Victorian who moved to Qld over 20 yrs ago ( QLD doesn’t have the low crowd number issues of NSW) the argument for the massive difference in crowd numbers between the two codes is and always has been that rugby league is better to watch on T.V as the action all happens in the space of the...
Realistically port did it with manic pressure. That sort of pressure beats just about every game plan. It’s just whether the oppo can sustain that level of pressure for long enough. In most cases they can’t.
In saying that there will always be tweaks and changes to game plans season-season and...
Exactly. The most successful eras of this great club have seen teams containing the most polarising and sometimes flamboyant players of their time.
Jack is this eras version.
Honestly these sorts of comments/ taunts whatever you want to call them have gone on for years and years with the only difference now being that it was on social media.
Sicilys poster sneaks in for a goal instead and Ginny’s throw away social media comment is all forgotten.
Unfortunately...
Your mob were the better side tonight. All the best next week. Hopefully you’ll all ease up on Ken now. Based on tonight he deserves more time. Port and Hinkley are a match made in footy heaven.
Not shocked. Always found port/hinkley a weird lot. They always carry on with this it’s us against them mentality, but the them in their case is actually themselves. Plus I’ll never forgive Hinkley for knocking Tony hall out with a raised elbow in 1991. 😂
Was more then a few weeks ago, but they were certainly up there in the “experts” favourites. In all seriousness though it shows what a crazy season it’s been. But anyways screw em. GO Hawkers!!!
These things happen. It’s been an amazing run and it’s still not over. Just can’t be giving up 7 goal qtrs. Lessons will be learned just like they were from previous games.
It’s just so bloody exciting in so many ways. The team is playing with flair, and you can see how much they are enjoying themselves. And the hawks fans at the games are really up and about. It’s so awesome to hear. Loving it!
Right now this group of blokes winning style of game is attack and quick ball movement. They do need to learn to slow the momentum when needed and when it’s appropriate. Hopefully this well be a lesson learnt.
Just watched the game now and that is what impressed me the most. It wasn’t just a case of guarding space, but they were applying so much pressure by closing that space quickly on the dogs. That takes a hell of a lot of effort. Very satisfying to watch.
Is the game plan that much different to last years that it has all of a sudden become to complex? If we look back last season at the win over the pies for what is probably the best example of things working pretty much perfectly (3rd quarter specifically) the spread both offensively and...
The stagnancy seems to happen the whole ground over when things aren’t going the teams way. Coming out defence, there just seems to be no one moving or attempting to make space, the ball movement is at a snails pace. It becomes all too easy for oppo defences, especially ones as disciplined as...
You can’t coach game day workrate. Too many don’t seem to want to do the work both ways. Geez they look amazing when they have the momentum, but when things are going bad it’s on-field leadership that has to take control. That sort of leadership is currently non-existent. A proper half back...
I’ll agree with you on the skill level. The age/list profile bit to a degree, Sydney have experienced leaders that drive the ship and can take up the slack when the young types lose their way ( we do not). The system is built around a work rate that is either too much effort for this crop, or...
Do you think we have those style of leaders currently? I think there are some that will mature into it over the next couple of seasons, but right now I’m not so sure that kind of leadership is present on-field.
