Melbourne wants to get rid of Oliver, like Collingwood and Melbourne wanted to get rid of Grundy. It’s unfortunate for the dees that their CEO appears to have been desperately shopping Oliver around instead of waiting for the inevitable interest from other clubs. Now his value has dropped a heap.

He's still very young and has shown he can perform exceptionally well. Geelong should only trade him if they can get a high end pick or player. Otherwise, much better off seeing if he can rediscover 2022/23 form.
I’ve never gone to a final before. Stressful ticket buying experience! I couldn’t see an option to select tickets on the map of the stadium so settled for Bay 238 to avoid missing out.
Barely any recent first round draftees in their team tonight and I’d say only Danger and Cameron are “star” players taken from other clubs. They’re just an extremely well-run football club.
Is there enough time for Petracca to show he is physically able to perform at a high standard before trade period? I assume no, and therefore clubs would be averse to offering picks or players that match what we assume Trac’s value is.

He’s been disrespected for many years by fans and club. I reckon he’s an iconic player of this era of Freo and his effort has been consistently high. I don’t know if the stats reflect it but I feel like he’s contributed something important in every game he’s played the last two or three years.
I think Shai Bolton will cost too much to be worth it for Fremantle. He hasn’t performed to the level of justifying two first rounders for a while IMO, but Richmond could justifiably ask for it if he tries to get out of his contract so early. I’d be more than happy for them to trade two first...
If a doctor says leaving a club/going to a specific club/location is the solution to their mental health ills then that’s fine. Dunno if that’s a thing though.
I hope the AFL develops a policy that bans players for a duration or imposes a fine on them if they unilaterally break a contract, except for in extenuating circumstances.
With that said, I’m not convinced this rumour is true anyway.
Wasn’t the story more like Hawthorn was desperate for Mitchell to be their coach but he was being pursued by Collingwood, so the Hawks had to make the tough call to do a “handover year” (which failed)?
It depends on the situation of the club. Maybe they have a lot of cap space or are able to front or back end deals. Jasper Pittard would be an example.
It must be so frustrating as a Dogs fan to hear Beveridge essentially say he doesn’t think the list is good enough and therefore he’s going to muck around with selection. No one else sees Caleb Daniel, Bailey Dale, or Jack Macrae as obstacles to the team’s success. The club is held ransom to the...
