Draper has barracked for Adelaide his whole life. a Channel 7 crows hating reporter went with false news to get clicks and got caught out. About time the public stopped supporting this click bait reporting.
Change their name to 7rumours…Now they switched off comments on that report 🙄 Just delete...
The SA state program had some disappointing results all round. The first two you named, Welsh and Herbert both played SANFL league all year and did quite well but they don’t stand out as much at that level, because they play against the big boys. (I feel the Crows purposely hid Welsh.)
Both...
Sorry, didn’t explain it, Hargrave was the 2023 SANFL U18 MVP (like the Brownlow for the league) Draper was MVP for the state champs. Port have a few decisions to make with F/S and NGA selections which are players they currently don’t really need. SA’s poor champs could cost some worthy players...
So much talk of the Vic power house, Hargrave is another SA boy off the Radar, U18 MVP last year, good champs and has been good at SANFL level over the last month in an ordinary team, kicks goals most weeks. Had a run through the Mid field a few weeks ago and accumulated well. Only flaw is...
You had me doubting since he’s missed a bit of footy this year, but after viewing some footage this week I’m convinced, Herbert is a no-nonsense footballer that gets the job done. Check out Noobers video https://youtu.be/e2JQNOB7ebw SA vs VicM, he does all the team things, at 0:39 he covers...
This👍 -I get so sick of mostly click bait media going on and on about father-son and brother-of, ad nauseam. Do you think they’ll ever get rid of the f/s rule with the amount of clicks it gets? I feel sorry for those boys just doing their best under a dads shadow. So many guns come from parents...
Recruiters could also be discovering what sort of bloke he is and questioning that. Heard him threaten players that he’ll meet hem in the car park during nationals.
Sorry, I can’t agree on Bowman, being a deep draft this year, I don’t know if clubs will use up a pick based on potential, get him as a rookie pick and time to develop, sure he has moments but give me a consistent performer anytime. Would rate Hargraves, Campo’s, Herbert, Newton, Nichols and...
From SA, Logan Evans has been great for Port since the mid draft. After that no one really stands out, Pat Weckert had a strong start to the season until injured, thought he could be a chance mid season. Will Patton plays League without standing out enough to draw attention. Koby Ryan from a...
Only Tom Lucks second game back after lengthy hamstring injury too, he’d be well unfit, Dodson positioning a lot better this game getting back and taking marks. Someone’s been working with him well and good follow up work at stoppage.
Somewhere In the next bracket. Was bottom 5 for all stats for the champs. Problem with Bowman, he’s too big to be a small forward (although he is quick) and I’m not sure that he’s a high flying big forward even tho he took a huge hanger in SANFL 18s. You see other forwards taking more marks...
Yea, I think we’re agreeing on the same thing. Compare Malakai to a Benny Barrett or Kano who consistently leads up and back, he’s everywhere, then chases and puts pressure on, and I agree it wouldn’t take much, but some times it can’t be taught. Hopefully for him he can.
Drifting in and out of games is what small forwards do and he plays that role well. As long as he does the hard work without the footy and puts pressure on when they don’t have the ball iwill be the difference between drifting out and being great.
Dodson for sure, he’d be crazy to choose footy over basketball if it is on offer. But would be a good project ruckman for any club, particularly the crows. Needs a good mentor for position around the ground. 32 today is a nice day out, albeit against a banged up opponent. If I was picking an u18...
I was hoping to put some time into this but times up, so going to wing it instead.
This list is for SA boys eligible this year, and picked as if I was picking for an afl spot now.
Draper
B Campo
Herbert
L Campo
Clarke
Hargraves
Welsh
Barrett
Montgomery
West
Hasting
Dodson
Nichols
Newton...
I follow the SA kids a bit. I enjoyed the podcast with Benny, cheers. I like Benny too, exciting to watch. He was once described to me as a fart in a bottle. I don’t know what that means but somehow it’s accurate.
For interest sake, I went back and had a look, apart from the 3 Hawthorn legends Buddy, Roughy and Lewis and Lids and Griff, there is barely another bloke inside 30 that I have heard of. The next decent pick (sorry van berlo) is Lecras at 37 Cloke at 39 and Josh Gibson as a rookie. Great...
Herbert returned from injury into champs, and got better at the end. His two games back at SANFL league level after champs were excellent. Only a handful of kids (Draper, Welsh, Hargraves) playing regular State league level.
