Smacking Kids: Is It Really Abuse? Or Does It Help Them Learn?

Boundaries doesn't ring true. Have to make them aware of a need to be able to function outside the hunky-doryness of the family, fights and all within the frame work of that gizmo. Suppose boundaries if you mean don't go killing strangers but respect is more than performing an adverse effect...

Smacking Kids: Is It Really Abuse? Or Does It Help Them Learn?

Think it is respect for other people that is missing. Do you think corporal punishment meted out by parents is the answer to that?

Smacking Kids: Is It Really Abuse? Or Does It Help Them Learn?

You miss the message. Bring up your kids to be parents. Look at them and ask if you want them to be smacking their kids. (your grandkids) Would you consider it best if your kids did or did not craze away as you do on the keyboard?

Smacking Kids: Is It Really Abuse? Or Does It Help Them Learn?

The parenting key is recognizing that you are teaching a child to be a parent. That mother is trying to teach parenting to her daughter. You weren't all that involved.

    Broadband in non service areas?

Yeah probably right. On dial up we were 300 - 400 a month. Yesterday was 270. Evidently the culprit was an automatic windows update.

They will get different to when you feel like giving them a whack. When that happens (when they resume normal broadcasting) enter humour about that disgusting mood they had. You will get a laugh out of them. In the infant stage, voice tone carries the day. That's basic parenting.

If the Confederates had won the US Civil War, would the USA and the world be different now?

You might be getting a bit in front of yourself there. Whilst the importing of new slaves from Africa was to be unconsitutional, the keeping and production of slaves was to be a constitutional right. Section 9 - Limits on Congress, Bill of Rights 1. The importation of negroes of the African...

Sex offenders...... What are your thoughts??

My fair lady The rain in spain falls mainly on the plain. Hartford, Heresford and Hampshire, by George she's got it, she's got it, she has really got it. That play/film bordered on men being more content with men, not sex offenders as the thread is about.

    Broadband in non service areas?

Well got the dish and it's up and running. It isn't much faster than dial up. Evidently the two way technology just isn't up ADSL. Dish has to face north west which isn't ideal for where we get strong winds from and it doesn't seem to be as solid a structure as the austar dish. Here...

John Howard "is well known as one of the most honest leader we ever had."

Nominally I would agree with that but from recent personal experience its probably wrong. To explain, I am the sort voter who finds out who he votes for in the polling booth. At the recent state election in the lead up to election day, had pretty much decided to vote for the sitting member...
