Greatest thing that happened last season was those one-eyed club commentary broadcasts.
Derm and Quarters talking about Essendon's hopes being dashed by Big Mac after the siren:
Quarters: "Yeah it was a terrible blow for Essendon fans!"
Dipper: sniffs dismissively... shame
It was beautiful.
Welcome back, king.
It would be hard to begrudge Lewis heading up there for: a) a fresh start after a long history of injuries, b) warmer weather to assist with management of said injuries c) recent evidence of their medical teams chops in Ashcroft.
I feel like it will be near impossible for...
Big supporter of the premiership squad/medallion for players that have been there all year and would have been on the day if not for horrible injury luck. The Big O seriously helped get them there, and deserved to be part of the success if not for an injury in the penultimate game...
The time to get him has passed unfortunately... He has announced himself in big games, I thought he was probably the most important player in their comeback victory against Geelong, he was immense.
Afl.com.au have just put up an excellent article on him, real quality read with some great insights into the boy (so well spoken, mature and articulate), as well as the culture of the club and how important people like Andy Collins are.
Really enjoyed that, almost as much as Calsher's highlight...
Reckon a nom or winning it also unlocks some nice bonuses in his first contract - which I'd happily see him receive, kid is a gold-plated star, and deserves all the success that comes his way.
Seeing him fly for marks is a thing of beauty.
Thank you for that sensible reply, the motivations are much clearer now. As usual the barrier to the best outcome is the AFL actually properly investing in grassroots football. Stop propping up basketcases like North and STK, and reinvest that money into development pathways to ensure the...
I get such strong Akermanis vibes from Watson (obviously needs to work on his kicking as Aker was ridiculous) - but more the presence, and ability to impact a game. I'm fully anticipating him doing both the mercurial, and just breaking a game wide open with quick goals.
Still can't believe the floor impact this guy is having as an 18yo KPF, I can't think of anyone in recent years like it.
As they said in the commentary, he was having a massive impact on play, ignore his stat sheet. He's won over Gary Lyon who I don't mind as a commentator.
When it all clicks...
Seriously, seriously impressed.
He's also earning his opportunities and goals with excellent body work, grabs etc. - not getting many Joe the Gooses like a lot of KPF early in their career.
His composure to be a main target as an 18yo playing AFL is crazy, kid could be anything.
Too busy averaging something like 2080 AFL Fantasy points a game in some ammos league. I saw some terrifying footage of him earlier with about 70 hitouts, 20 goals, 60 broken tackles, and 30 pies at half time...
Ooof bad kick, but Weddle heard steps there, that's disappointing :(
Can we please, please play Amon as a winger? He went from being one of the best in the AFL, to absolutely irrelevant, why do we have to try and reinvent him?
Impey needs to come out of the side, really offers absolutely nothing. A more senior player in the side now, but has lost his zip which makes him rush and bomb, fumbly skills as well. Was a while where he was very exciting, but that's a long time ago now :(
I'm beginning to think we have the absolute worst game day coaching in the competition. Really concerning, and this tempo football ends up straining our already non-existent skills. It feels like we're a very long way into the woods of this rebuild :(
Who is in charge of our god damn centre bounce setups, letting people just walk out, as Hodge and Selwood (two of the best to do it) say, it's just a non-negotiable you don't leave those holes.
